Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for a quick cheap expansion. This little adapter is great for specific purposes! This uses the SATA lanes in M.2 socket and most motherboards will actually disable a SATA port on the motherboard and redirect it to the M.2 when used. This was fine in my case as the SATA port linked to the M.2 was actually ripped off of the board, so this effectively was a replacement for that missing socket.

Will this support up to 500GB/s

I have a MSI B350m Mortar Motherboard, it has 4 x SATA 3 connectors and they are only rated for 6GB/s but I have a SSD rated for 500GB/s. The motherboard has 1 x M.2 (Key M) slot. Is this adapter compatible with the board, and will it allow full support for the full speed of the SSD? Or at least significantly improve it? Thanks!

Hi, Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not state the speeds at which this will work. With this being an M.2, this should improve the speeds for you. Although we are unable to guarantee this, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly regarding this. Kind Regards,
