Acer Predator Atlas 8 Handheld Gaming Console

Designed to bring desktop-class gaming performance into a portable format, the Acer Predator Atlas 8 combines an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen with an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, Intel Arc B390 graphics, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD. Running Windows 11 Home, this high-performance handheld provides access to the wider PC gaming ecosystem while offering dedicated gaming controls, TMR analogue joysticks, Hall Effect triggers, adjustable trigger switches, and a large 80Wh battery. With Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, a 120Hz VRR display, and a range of Predator gaming features, the Atlas 8 is engineered to deliver a versatile PC gaming experience in a handheld form factor.

8-inch WUXGA Gaming Display

The Predator Atlas 8 features an 8-inch 1920 × 1080 WUXGA IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 10-point multi-touch support, and a 120Hz refresh rate with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). With up to 500nits peak brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC, the display provides a vibrant and responsive gaming experience. A 9H anti-glare matte screen protector is also included for improved usability.

Intel Arc Performance

Powered by an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics, the Atlas 8 is equipped for demanding PC gaming in a portable system. The graphics architecture provides 12 Xe Cores, 113 GPU peak TOPS (int8), hardware ray tracing, AV1 encoding, Microsoft DirectX 12 Ultimate support, and XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation for supported games.

Advanced Handheld Controls

The Atlas 8 combines traditional console-style controls with advanced input technology. TMR analogue joysticks provide precise left and right stick control, while Hall Effect analogue triggers help deliver accurate and consistent analogue input. Adjustable trigger switches allow users to alter trigger operation, while dedicated macro buttons provide additional control options. A D-pad, ABXY buttons, bumpers, menu, home, view, and PredatorSense buttons complete the dedicated gaming controls.

Thunderbolt 4 Connectivity

Two Thunderbolt 4 ports provide high-speed connectivity for compatible peripherals, storage devices, displays, docks, and other accessories. Combined with the integrated USB-C connectivity offered through Thunderbolt 4, the Atlas 8 can function as a flexible Windows PC as well as a dedicated handheld gaming device.

Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 provides high-speed wireless networking across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, with 2x2 MIMO technology and support for 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards. Bluetooth 5.4 or above provides wireless connectivity for compatible controllers, headphones, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals.

Immersive Audio and AI Voice Enhancement

The Atlas 8 features dual stereo speakers with DTS Virtual:X audio, providing immersive sound through the integrated speaker system and headphones. A high-SNR DAC supports output up to 2.1 Vrms and can drive high-impedance headphones up to 600 ohms, while Hi-Res Audio certification supports headphone output up to 24-bit/192kHz. Acer Purified.Voice uses AI noise reduction, adaptive beam forming, and a dual-microphone array to improve voice capture for gaming and communication.

Large 80Wh Battery

An 80Wh four-cell lithium-ion battery provides substantial portable power for gaming away from a mains connection. Despite its high-capacity battery, the Atlas 8 maintains a handheld-oriented design measuring 299 × 127.4 × 28.5/58.37mm and weighing approximately 860g with the battery installed.

Windows 11 and PredatorSense

Running Windows 11 Home, the Atlas 8 provides access to PC games, applications, and the broader Windows ecosystem. Acer PredatorSense provides dedicated system and gaming controls, while the device also includes Planet9 Stub for gaming. The integrated multi-touch display further allows the Atlas 8 to operate like a conventional Windows PC when required.
