AX860i - Corsair Power Supply - Fully Modular ATX PSU
Corsair AXi 860W Power Supply
This AXi Series power supply from Corsair is revolutionary in the way it is the first desktop PC power supplies to use digital (DSP) control and Corsair Link to bring the best level of monitoring and performance. The AX860i has a total power output of 860W, other advantages are that it gives you extremely tight voltage control virtually silent operation, and a fully modular cable set. The 80PLUS Platinum efficiency rating and Zero RPM Fan Mode mean that at low to medium loads, the fan doesn’t spin at all. And when you do push the AXi hard, the thermally controlled fan spins only as fast as it needs to. Even when the fan isn't running the AX860i has specially selected components to reduce electronic noise for a near silent PSU.

Power-supply units, or PSUs, are an integral part of any computer build. Often overlooked, it is the component that is likely to last the longest, and it can be moved between systems when you upgrade to the latest and greatest in the future.

Conceived back in 2004 and brought to market just a year later, the 80 PLUS initiative is one of many standards introduced in an effort to increase energy efficiency in modern technology. Targeting computer power supplies, it awards PSUs that are able to achieve an energy efficiency of over 80 per cent at varying workloads and a power factor of 0.9 or more at 100 per cent load.
