this PSU is a quality item, even though it is about 3 years old, it is fully compatible with Skylake. may maximum load is 280w and I have never heard the PSU make a sound excellent.

Rated 3 out of 5 by John76 Ultra-stable output for around 4 weeks, then dead
Build quality feels really good, all output voltages controlled extremely accurately, very quiet even when fan running.
Unfortunately the supply died after 4 weeks use. The PC would not start and there was a constant clicking from the PSU. After further investigation this appears to be a fairly common issue with the AXi units. RMA'd back to Scan.

My first fully modular power supply, I love the customization cabling with these including the different colour cables (I've swapped mine out for the red ones).
This is powering my Titan X machine with no stability problems. It is very surprising what power supply you really need when you don't overclock any of the components.
For example according to Corsair Link software after running Firestrike and Crysis 3 for a couple hours the maximum wattage used was 401W. I will update once I have installed my second Titan X for SLI.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Truron Excellent Product for those who Value Reliability and Functionality
The AX860i is an excellent high quality product. I use my 2 computers professionally in Financial Analysis, Engineering Design on average for 10 hrs a day, 5 days a week. This is the second Corsair PSU I have purchased. I previously bought a 750 watt model 6 years ago (~15000 hrs service).
Of particular value is the ability to monitor each voltage rail in these products. I keep a record of the ACTUAL rail voltages when new, and monitor these over time. If any these move significantly, it is usually a reliable indicator that the PSU is more likely to fail.
I have only awarded 4 'stars' for value as Corsair undoubtedly charge a premium compared to other vendors...but this small overhead is well worth while to avoid unplanned maintenance and potential loss of data.

I Built a system with all parts ordered from Scan who delivered very promptly and were totally professional. I had one slight issue which their after sales support spotted immediately when I explained and they told me exactly how to correct the mistake I had made. Cannot fault Scan in either the sales process or the after sales service.
The system I built was...
Fractal Design Node 804, Corsair AX860i PSU, Panasonic UJ265 Slot Loading Blu Ray Writer, Gigabyte GA-x99M Motherboard, Intel cor 5930K, 32GB Corsair DDR4 2666mhz Vengance RAM, Corsair H100i Water Colling, Samsung SM951 for Boot Drive, 4TB Seagate Sata III for storage and Installs, and a DELL 34" Curved Screen.
This system is absolutely awesome!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chuchy Excellent PSU bit cables let it down.
GR8 PSU but the fixing screws were too short for my case and the standard cables look / feel cheap!
I had to buy separate cable mod ones which are much better.
I think Corsair should offer to supply the PSU without cables at a slightly cheaper price.

Is doing a great job - no problems encountered
I have only had this fan since April. It fitted without problem. Cable management was not difficult.
I did like the facility to test that the power unit was working before installing all the cables.
It is very quiet. I did attach the Corsair link which I have found useful. It does give useful info on both power and temp of all major components. This can be done by either clicking on the icon, or if you want a permanent display whilst using the computer just click on show CossairLink in the list that comes up after clicking on the icon.
Pros Nice to be able to test before installing the cabling
Quiet when in use
Corsair Link showing power and / or temp of the system or individual components
Cons This is all to do with the presentation of the information relayed on screen from the CorsairLink, not about the function of the unit.
The “show CorsairLink” comes up with a fairly large picture. Whilst this can be reduced just to show the temp of individual components it still the height is the height of the screen unless you only want to see the first or last component. It can not be moved to lay across the screen top or bottom. They can not be manipulated to be transparent whilst renaming on top, so that one could get on with other work whilst still having the info in sight. .
It would have been nice if the temp or power of the individual items, could each be reduced to the size of the other icons also, transparent and able to be situated on any side of the screen left or right or top or bottom. This would be particularly useful when carrying out intensive CPU work when you know the temp of the CPU will rise
