650W Corsair CX650M, 80 PLUS Bronze, Hybrid Modular, SLI/CrossFire, Single Rail, 54A +12V, 1x120mm Fan, ATX PSU is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from worst corsair PSU made THIS IS NOT MOAN AT SCAN, scan have been very good and helpful towards me in the past. I Built a rig for a friend. We upgraded his system as he was using a cheap cit PSU 500w which ran his GTX 1070 perfectly. We upgraded his PSU to the CX650M, we booted up his rig ran some games fine but as soon as he clicked bf1 campaign it died. We replaced it thinking it might of been bad luck, installed the new CX650M clicked bf1 - died. I tested it with my power meter at the socket in my test rig with SLI 1080s using a 550w superflower power supply, the gpus at idle 98w, under load on bf1 campaign it peaked with a spike a little when clicking the campaign, then leveled out at 350w and it ran fine the system combined was 515W with 2 1080FE. For an advertised PSU from Corsair that's 650w, cant even handle 300-350w max or a slight spike from bf1 is absolutely disgusting quality, i know over the years the quality has dropped massively from CORSAIR but this level is a new one on me. I have a AX760W spare and in my main rig i have a AX1200W and loved them both, I used to be a fan of the old Corsair PSU's having had a AX760,860 and a TX750M and a AX1200w but this display is shocking. We have now bought the EVGA power supply from SCAN and it runs his system perfectly fine with his i5 and gtx 1070. SAVE your self the pain and hassle and AVOID this like the plague.

Questions & Answers

Do corsair PSU's come with a kettle lead?

I haven't built a computer before and so this may seem like a really stupid question but does a power supply come with a lead to the mains or do I need to buy me own? I am interested in buying a: 650W Corsair CX650M, 80 PLUS Bronze, Hybrid Modular, SLI/CrossFire, Single Rail, 54A +12V, 1x120mm Fan, ATX PSU
Asked by: rasberybun
Yes they do come with a kettle lead, but don't buy this power supply it is of poor quality after having recently installed 2 for some one who wanted me to build his PC (he had already bought it), look at EVGAs and Seasonic, the higher end Corsair units are better but the mid range are of poor quality, hope this helps you
