Flexible Port Layout & Access Layer Connectivity

The switch features 48 × 1 GbE RJ45 ports, including 32 PoE+ ports, alongside 4 × 1G SFP ports for uplink or fibre connectivity. This layout supports a wide range of access-layer devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wired endpoints, while maintaining dedicated uplinks for aggregation into higher-speed network layers.

195W PoE+ Budget & Device Support

With a total PoE budget of 195W, the USW-48-POE supports PoE (15.4W) and PoE+ (up to 32W per port) across 32 ports. This enables consistent power delivery for standard enterprise devices without the need for separate injectors, simplifying deployment and centralising power management within the switch.

Advanced Layer 2 Networking Features

As a Layer 2 managed switch, the USW-48-POE supports LACP port aggregation, STP/RSTP, IGMP snooping with advanced multicast configuration, and 802.1X access control for structured and secure network operation. Additional features include MAC- and IP-based ACLs, port isolation, DHCP snooping & guarding, flow control, storm control, multicast/broadcast rate limiting, and jumbo frames, providing control over traffic behaviour and device access across the network.

Scalable Switching Performance

The switch delivers a switching capacity of 104 Gbps, 52 Gbps of non-blocking throughput, and a forwarding rate of 77 Mpps, supporting stable performance across all 48 ports. It supports up to 1,000 VLANs, maintains a MAC address table of 16,000 entries, and includes 128 IPv4 and 128 MAC-based ACL entries, enabling segmented network designs with controlled access policies.

Efficient Power & Silent Operation

Powered by an internal 240W AC/DC power supply, the USW-48-POE operates with a maximum consumption of 45W excluding PoE output, delivering efficient performance for continuous operation. Its fanless cooling system ensures silent running, making it suitable for office environments, classrooms, and AV installations where acoustic noise must be kept to a minimum.

Enterprise Hardware & On-Device Monitoring

The switch is built with an SGCC steel enclosure, weighs 4.5 kg without mounting brackets, and supports rack depths from 400 to 1,200 mm. A 1.3-inch touchscreen LCM provides quick access to status information and basic monitoring directly from the device, reducing the need for external management access during installation or troubleshooting.
