iiyama Ultra HD (4K) Monitor - 40" MVA Display - X4071UHSU-B1

Experience iiyama UHD (4K) Monitor Visuals

The ProLite X4071UHSU-B1 is an impressive 4K (3840 x 2160) monitor, offering a gigantic viewable area with 4 times more information and work space than a Full HD screen. Due to the high DPI (dots per inch) the monitor displays an incredibly sharp and crisp image. The VA panel technology offers exceptional colour performance, high contrast (5000:1) and wide viewing angles. PIP and PBP features allow users to easily create their own work space by displaying and manipulating multiple applications.

Wider, Bigger, Larger View all at Once

Ultra high definition 3840 x 2160 resolution (4K UHD) yields a superior pixel density of 157 PPI (pixels per inch) on the large 28-inch screen, for outstandingly detailed images. The 10-bit Deep Color RGB display panel ensures substantially more natural transitions between hues for exceptional realism.

See More with an Enhanced Colour Count

The 10-bit Deep Colour RGB display panel ensures substantially more natural transitions between hues for exceptional realism. A smooth blend between colours can be vital in modern games to create a truely immersive experience, due to how popular particle effects have become in next-generation gaming.

Monitor Observation from Anywhere

MVA technology offers higher contrast, darker blacks and much better viewing angles than standard TN technology. The screen will look good no matter what angle you look at it.

Multiple Computers, Single Display

PIP (Picture in Picture) function allows you to watch images coming from two different sources at the same time. Choose the right path to success, don’t let a slow display stop you.

Built-In Speaker System

Playing with friends? Use the integrated high quality speakers - built-in 2x6w Speakers. Don’t want to disturb anybody? Plug your headset to the headphone socket and turn the volume up.

Blue Light Reducer

Reducing the amount of blue light ultimately allows our eyes to feel less tired while working long hours with a computer screen. We achieved it by adjusting the monitor's brightness and color temperature through a new feature called “Blue light reduction” easily accessible through the monitor’s OSD menu.

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the cost, hard to go wrong Got this monitor about a year ago at £480 inc. vat. Bit of dimming around the edges; not the best panel ever made. I don't need accurate colour representation, so am not fussed on it - this might be an issue for others. A couple of friends that were into photography did the color calibration work (Sypder3), and thought it all right - for the money. Not perfect, for what you are paying, well worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright, high quality monitor Excellent resolution and useful physical size...big enough to make use of that resolution but not ridiculous! Very good blacks and contrast/colour gamut. A really great monitor for graphics design and video editing, I also use it for 3D CAD design, and the large area image is very useful in this context. Thoroughly recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from VERY SLOW to start up, other than that it`s ok. I`ve just built a new gaming system, but I cant help but feel a bit let down by this monitor. It just takes so long to come on. Either from PC start up, or just wiggling the mouse to wake it up when the system is already on, it take around 13+ seconds to light up. I`ve tried all sorts to make it faster, but no settings seem to help, so i presume i`m stuck with it. Apart from that, it`s a nice monitor, well built and very sturdy. Comes will all the leads you could need too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from good price but the panel is not worth it 40" 4k monitor, a very good res to size ratio, alas this is not a good implementation: Very noticeable vignetting (dimming around the edges of the panel). Very poor viewing angles BOTH horizontally and vertically, not only colour distortion but darkening too. Very poor panel lighting uniformity. You HAVE to enter the settings to make it even do the advertised spec, 4K 60Hz is disabled by default.... the panel takes 20 seconds to even start up I came from multiple IPS panels and wanted to get some of my desk back. The 40" 4k panel is going to be the answer but this one is going straight on ebay. The physical monitor housing and stand are solid but this product overall is not worth the massive issues with the main feature, the panel. No point in wasting your money on this, it is not a mature enough product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable value I had been looking at 4K monitors for a while but pretty much everything was more than I wanted to pay. When I saw this monitor I was interested but doubtful. I read the review on this site, competitor sites and review sites. Nothing said the monitor was a terrible purchase and in the end I decided to take the plunge. I must say I am very happy. The build quality is fine, not super amazing. A regular inoffensive plastic bezel. Legs are nice sturdy metal and the VESA mount looks solid. No dead pixels, brightness and contrast seem fine to me. I am not a designer or photographer who no doubt would be more exacting. Handy remote which makes it easy to make sure the monitor display port setting is 1.2 at 60Hz. Slight negative is the length of time the screen takes to turn on from standby. My PC has already made it past POST and onto the OS selection menu giving me only two seconds to chose Windows or Linux. Screen functions fine in either operating system which are currently Linux Mint 17.3 or Windows 10 Professional. Neither took any real setting up although Windows had somehow unset the GPUs from SLI which I noticed the first time I fired up a game. Once resolved I was happily playing DOOM in 4K with all settings at high (not ultra). I also had to turn off vsync which killed the frame rate. With these settings I was getting 50 to 60 FPS. I cannot say I saw any screen tearing with the vsync turned off. The PC is running a pair of GTX 970s and an i7-4930K. In Linux all I had to do was increase the system font sizes and scaling a tiny bit to make all the screen text comfortable. As the last reviewer said it is very pleasant indeed to have four VMs tiled into each corner of the screen, each one running in 1920 by 1080. I have not used the screens speakers so I cannot give an opinion. Watching movies from DVD or streamed is lovely and the monitor can be pressed into service as a TV if you so desire with a simple freeview box. I had the screen on pre-order and I see within two weeks of delivery that SCAN have sold out again. Ilyama it seems cannot make these things fast enough to sate demand. I take this as a good indicator. I have used Ilyama monitors at work for many years with no complaints. Always quality products and with this monitor unbeatable value as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value, affordable 4K panel Cables supplied with this panel are very good and do the job, the DisplayPort 1.2 cable is approximately 1m - 1.5m long (I didn't measure it accurately# and has no issues delivering 4K Windows 10 desktop resolution. Included are HDMI and VGA cables, I cannot confirm that the HDMI cable is 2.0 compatible. Check with Scan if this is your preferred route. The inclusion of a remote control for OSD navigation is a welcome addition #batteries not included, you'll need 2xAAA#. The monitor ships as DisplayPort 1.1 as default but is very simple to put into DisplayPort 1.2 mode which allows for 60Hz refresh rate in Windows. The monitor does report 75Hz in AMD Control Centre but I didn't venture down that path. Panel Quality ? Stunning... for the price. This monitor cannot be used by pro gamers or pro photographers, who will no doubt demand the absolute best response and refresh, but for your everyday Joe #like me# there is absolutely nothing wrong with this panel. I can see no flickering even when playing games at 4K 60Hz. As an example, Rome 2 at 4K extreme quality was flawless, Fallout 4 at 4K Ultra was good, until there was a little too much action on screen... regular computer people will know this is down to the GPU/CPU combination, not the panel. Pixel Real Estate. Like any other 4K panel, amazing, but with 1 added bonus. Due to the size of this panel you will not need to scale up in Windows. Smaller panels will require you to make Windows scale up the UI elements #like text# just so you can read it properly. Not so with this panel. The ability to have 4 virtual machines all running at 1920 x 1080 side by side is awesome, even more so as you won't need to scale the UI. Voted a 5 for value. The panel for the price is very good value for money. Voted a 4 for quality. The panel when mounted on the included feet does lean forward very slightly and the connectors at the back of panel are a little awkward. The slight lean is easily corrected by putting some rubber pads under the front of the feet. Overall vote of 4 stars. 4K gaming and development work #with lots and lots of pixel real estate) is a joy. A great panel.

Does this monitor support DisplayPort 1.2 for 60Hz refresh on Windows 10 ?

Asked by: ChrisBamford
I am running it at 60Hz through my NVidia 620 card and the display port input and it is stable, and looks great. Running W10 64 bit.

Have the 3xs system with GTX980 GPU will this handle this monitor?

Will be using the monitor on P3d and X Plane flight sims with your 3XS system. Worried the huge definition will be too much for 4Gb on the GTX 980?
Asked by: herky
I use an NVidia Quadro 620 card to drive mine at full resolution and more than adequate speed for CAD and editing work.
