Product Overview ProLite XUB2790HS is a 27” LED monitor with latest AH-IPS Panel technology considered to be the best all round panel type. It offers accurate and consistent colour reproduction with wide viewing angles and a fast response time. A truly ergonomic stand including pivot function makes the XUB2790HS an excellent choice for photographic design, web design, standard office use. It’s the perfect choice for multi-monitor applications.

Features IPS
The IPS panel technology guarantees consistent colour reproduction with wide viewing angles and high contrast and therefore it is especially recommended for graphics design and other applications which require colours to be displayed accurately. The response time of the panel allows for smooth playback while watching films and playing games, making the IPS the best all-round technology suitable for both business and home use.

Full HD
With true 1920 x 1080p resolution your monitor is ready to display high definition images. This means you can accommodate more information on your screen; e.g. 60% more in comparison to a 1280 x 1024 monitor.

LED-Backlit
A typical CCFL LCD uses four backlight lamps. Using LED diodes considerably lowers the power consumption and reduces the CO2 emission into the environment making this LCD a true ECO-Friendly product.

ACR
Contrast Ratio is a measurement of the difference between the darkest black and the brightest white your monitor can display. Advanced Contrast Ratio is a feature that automatically adjusts contrast and brightness of the screen to assure perfect picture quality while watching films and playing games.

Pivot
Screen rotation means you can change the position of the screen from landscape into portrait. This feature can be very handy while working with long spreadsheets or texts.

HAS
A Height Adjustable Stand allows you to set the perfect position of the screen ensuring ergonomic posture and optimal viewing comfort which benefits not only your health but also productivity.

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

As you’ll all likely know by now, DVI is the current standard for connection of a PC or other display generator to a digital display output. You’ll recognise the multi-pin connector and know that almost all modern LCD displays have the corresponding input connector, for feeding from your PC. But do you know how DVI works? This TekSpek seeks to teach you how.

Whether the broadcasters are going HD or not, TV sets and projectors are arriving thick and fast which claim to support higher resolutions than regular telly. But HDTV is far from just one standard – it incorporates a couple of different resolutions, two different scanning modes, and a number of different frame rates. In this article, we present a guide to what all the terms actually mean.

There’s a lot more to High Definition than just having the ability to run your screen at the right resolution. With more than one type of connection available, and the thorny subject of signal encryption to contend with, just because your monitor and graphics are capable of 1,920 x 1,080 or better does not necessarily mean they will be able to display HDTV in all its glory.

Reviews
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good quality professional monitor Solid monitor with a very nice base which tilts, swivels to Portrait mode and is adjustable vertically. IPS panel which has a very good viewing angle. Only negative - even at it's brightest, the display could have done with being even brighter. A tad on the expensive side and really I'd go for a 4K monitor at this price instead. I must have bought the last one as it is now out of stock 26 February 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by 27" iiyama Monitor I'm not sure that I am the right person to report on a screen because I am red/green/brown colour blind. I connected it as necssary, turned it on, and it worked instantly. I like the colours and the sharpness of the display. It is a little bright but I would think that is necessary to give the good contrast. My fps games look very good and the bigger screen gives bigger targets! 21 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great product from an always-great supplier! I bought this monitor in November 2014 but I had been in the market to buy a larger monitor as an upgrade to my old 19" BenQ t903 after I took delivery of my new PC in May. I'd done my research with Scan's livechat helpdesk and we'd deduced that the idal monitor for my needs was the Iiyama XUB2790HS. I had to wait to buy it but I was not disappointed when I did - It does everything I want it to do and more: The colours and contrast are spot on and don't make my eyes tired, the pivot function is superb for my graphic designs and the controls and A/V jacks are easy to use (once you work out where they are ;) ). All in all I would definitely recommend Iiyama products and especially this screen. 25 November 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good Having had a del 22" monitor for years i decided to upgrade to a 27" IPS screen monitor i didn't want to spend a fortune on one so i looked at a fair few of the cheap end of the 27" range and the iiyama looked very good speck wise and looks also so i purchased one. And i have no regrets the monitor looks fantastic picture is sharp a bit bright but white is white and blacks are black the ips screen has very good viewing angles and color is spot on i didn't have to adjust any of the color settings at all. If there is one thing they could have done better is the placement of the control buttons they are located on the bottom edge and can be a bit fiddly to locate but i suppose you don't use them that often. All in all a good all round monitor for the price. I have now had the monitor a few months and i am very happy with it having read the review above i thought i should post my thoughts i have not noticed any flicker at all and have no issue at all about the screen picture is still spot on and gaming and movies look fantastic (makes my old Del monitor look dul lol) 12 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good first time buy, has some good features This monitor is good for a first time buy, if you're looking for a 1080p native monitor that can pivot to portrait mode. 10 August 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Gave me headaches I bought this monitor because I hoped its large pixel pitch would help me avoid eye strain. I like Iiyama as they make good quality products, and when the screen arrived, all the packaging and presentation was top notch as expected. I connected the screen and it worked on DVI straight out of the box with no configuration. Unfortunately though I found the screen excessively bright and felt it hurting my eyes. I had to dial down the brightness and the contrast so much that everything was much duller than my old monitor and yet I still felt discomfort while using it. I realized that I could observe a very slight flicker which would possibly be imperceptible to most people. I tried every way possible to get the Refresh Rate above 60Hz but couldn't. After a week the headaches from using this screen were constant and I would wake in the morning with one. With regret I contacted Scan who were really supportive and took the monitor back with no quibbles for a full refund. All I lost was the £10 collection fee with DPS. Since the screen went back, the headaches have completely gone. Something about this monitor just didn't agree with me, so I am afraid I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. 11 April 2014
