Product Overview Conceived for industrial heavy duty applications that require enhanced cooling performance and advanced ingress protection, the NF-A14 industrialPPC (Protected Performance Cooling) is a ruggedised high-speed version of the award-winning retail model. Thanks to the outstanding aerodynamic efficiency of the NF-A14 design and the use of a novel three-phase motor, the industrialPPC version provides superior airflow and pressure capacity while keeping noise levels and power consumption moderate as against comparable high-speed fans. While its fibre-glass reinforced polyamide construction and certified water and dust protection make the NF-A14 industrialPPC suitable for operation in challenging environments, the renowned SSO2 bearing technology guarantees an MTBF of over 150,000hrs. Topped off with Noctua's trusted reliability and six year manufacturer's warranty, the NF-A14 industrialPPC is an ideal choice for highly demanding applications that require superior flow rates and ultimate dependability.

Award-winning NF-A14 design
Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from the international press, Noctua's NF-A14 has become a proven premium choice for 140mm cooling needs. Its renowned efficiency has convinced tens of thousands of customers all over the world.

2000rpm industrialPPC version
Thanks to its elevated 2000rpm top speed, the NF-A14 industrialPPC-2000 provides a significant performance boost over the 1500rpm retail version. Combined with the industrialPPC series' robust polyamide construction and advanced protection features, this makes the fan ideal for challenging industrial applications.

Three-phase motor design
While most axial fans use single-phase motors with 4 slots, Noctua's industrialPPC fans feature a three-phase design with 6 slots, which provides smoother transitions between the slots and thus allows for even higher running smoothness, further reduced vibrations and unprecedented energy efficiency.

Class-leading energy efficiency
While the standard NF-A14 is one of the most energy efficient 1500rpm 140mm fans on the market, the industrialPPC version's three-phase motor provides a further 10% reduction in power consumption when compared at 2000rpm.

Fibre-glass reinforced polyamide construction
Both the impeller and the frame of Noctua's industrialPPC fans are made entirely from fibre-glass reinforced polyamide. This material can withstand temperatures up to 140°C and makes the fans even more robust and break-proof than Noctua's standard fibre-glass reinforced PBT fans.

Certified IP52 water- and dust protection
Thanks to a special varnish coating that covers the motor and PCB, the NF-A14 industrialPPC complies with the ingress protection rating IP52. This means that it is not only highly dust resistant but also withstands dripping water equivalent to 3mm rainfall per minute.

Flow Acceleration Channels
Designed for pressure demanding applications such as heatsinks and radiators, the Focused Flow™ frame features eleven stator guide vanes that straighten, channel and focus the airflow, which allows the NF-A14 to rival the performance of conventional fans running at much faster speeds.

AAO Frame
Noctua's AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames feature integrated anti-vibration pads as well as Noctua's proprietary Stepped Inlet Design and Inner Surface Microstructures, both of which further refine the fan's performance/noise efficiency.

Stepped Inlet Design
Noctua's Stepped Inlet Design adds turbulence to the influx in order to facilitate the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which reduces tonal intake noise, improves flow attachment and increases suction capacity, especially in space restricted environments.

Inner Surface Microstructures
With the tips of the fan blades ploughing through the boundary layer created by the Inner Surface Microstructures, flow separation from the suction side of the blades is significantly suppressed, which results in reduced blade passing noise and improved airflow and pressure efficiency.

Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads
Integrated Anti-Vibration Pads made from extra-soft silicone minimise the transmission of minute vibrations while maintaining full compatibility with all standard mounting systems and fan clips used on heatsinks.

SSO2 Bearing
The NF-A14 industrialPPC features the further optimised second generation of Noctua's renowned, time-tested SSO bearing. With SSO2, the rear magnet is placed closer to the axis to provide even better stabilisation, precision and durability.

Metal bearing shell
In order to guarantee the highest possible degree of manufacturing precision, minimum tolerance and excellent long-term stability, the NF-A14 industrialPPC sports a CNC milled bearing shell made entirely from brass.

Custom designed PWM IC with SCD
Supporting fully automatic PWM speed control, the NF-A14 industrialPPC uses Noctua's custom designed NE-FD2 PWM IC for three-phase motors. The NE-FD2 integrates Noctua's proprietary Smooth Commutation Drive (SCD) technology, which suppresses PWM switching noises and thus makes the fan quieter at lower speeds.

Six years manufacturer's warranty
Noctua fans are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the NF-A14 industrialPPC features an MTBF rating of more than 150.000 hours and comes with a full 6 years manufacturer's warranty. Features • Based on the award-winning NF-A14 design

140mm Noctua NF-A14 Industrial PPC 2000RPM PWM High Performance Fan is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from They are Noctua, what else do you need to know The first thing that you notice with these, is their weight. They feel That much sturdier than the average fan, even over the higher priced ones that are available now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took some getting use too... I bought 8 of these for my Phanteks Primo SE case, they look very dull with an awkward dull red anti-vibration pads BUT I have gotten use to them and now I really like them. Their performance is very good, I control mine through Corsair Link and they have a low idle of 500rpm which is as silent as you can get while still pushing air! The PWM 3 phase motors ticking away was irritating at first but have got use to it, now that I am typing this I don't think I can hear them perhaps they have "bed-in"... 2000RPM, don't go there without a fan controller unless you are trying to achieve a max OC and benchmarking because that is way too loud for anything other than. I set all mine at 900rpm when gaming and thats it, good noise/performance ratio. Very expensive but you are buying a fan full of innovation and technology and that is what finally won me over. If you dont care much for looks and want a great innovative fan, then get these.... If you like most people want nice looking fans that can probably push the same amount of air and have some LEDs there are plenty in the market... Chose wisely!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better looking noctua fans Replaced the helix fans on my swift h-240x with these. Shift a really impressive amount of air and have much better static pressure. These are also water resistant (handy if the worst should happen) and are far better looking than those hideous beige fans they're famous for. Chromax accessory (coloured corners) are available separately and add a touch of customisation. Be aware though that the leads on these fans are rather short and extension cables are not included (available separately). I did find however that they were long enough to route round my H-240X to the PWM controller in an enthoo primo case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant airflow and good price Brought these fans to replace the standard case fans. Pretty much silent when idling but under high load did start making a fair amount of noise but was still acceptable at 3 in the morning :) These fans also fit onto the NH-U14S Noctua CPU COOLERif you remove one side of the rubber pads, ive put two of them on mine and im idling at ~20* and rarely exceed 45/50* under load

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality I bought three of these to replace the standard three 140mm fans in a Corsair 750D. It was a bit of a fiddle to install them as the 4 pin leads are too short to reach some of the fan headers. They are not supplied with an extension. Given the obvious need to vary the fan header dependent on purpose this is a shortcoming and has cost them one star. Compared to the Corsair fans supplied these three reduced the Front Base CPU temp report by two degrees. They are also quieter than the supplied fans and can take advantage of the motherboards bios control. Well worth the money even if you have to source extensions for the leads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance with low noise I used two of these to replace the JetFlows on my CM 280L Nepton and I am very pleased with them. They are quiet and actually outperform the jetflows. My CPU is 5 degrees cooler under full stress. Well worth the money.

Will these work as case fans in my Define R4?

I see comments about them having 4 pins and I think (not 100% sure) that the define R4 case needs 3 pin fans. Would these work for my intake fans? Are there converters from 4 pin to 3 pin?
Asked by: techwg
TL;DR : number of pins doesn't matter The number of pins on a fan determines whether it supports PWM which is a way of changing the speed of the fan as the temperature increases. Your case will take the fans regardless of the number of pins along with your motherboard even if it only has 3 pin connectors, there are plastic ridges on the fan connector that slot over on on the mobo so you don't put three pins in the wrong holes
