The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

System Noise Reduction
Date Issued: 5th Mar 2007

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.

120mm Noctua NF-F12 Industrial PPC 2000RPM High Performance Fan is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from airflow noctua... i use them all the time in my builds, bit more expensive tan other makes, but wow can they move the air in a case, currently i am using 2 120mm, 6 140mm in my case, and under the desk feels like its a fridge, id always suggest to use noctua if your budget allows

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The quality shows Got these fans to use with a 60mm thick rad, set at around 800rpm (over 1400rpm and the air turbulence noise starts getting really noticeable) they provide great airflow and are really quiet given they are industrial class server orientated fans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best fan I have ever had in a machine This fan is by far the most expensive fan I have ever bought but required its cooling capacity. To put it simply for my needs it was money well spent. I bought 2 of these to have in push/pull on a R9 295x2 to keep my temps nice and low. It does it very well and in all honesty, very quietly too. Of course should the fans hit 100% then they are noisy, although I'm yet to hear them hit that high other than when I turn them up. Although these are 3 pin they rev up and down just like pwm. If your looking at buying these, once your over the cost, you wont regret it.
