Product Overview

Reversed, Refined Simplicity

Refined from its predecessor, the GF120R V2 ARGB is now featured in Montech’s flagship cases and stands out with its balance of cooling strength and visual flair. Built around a newly designed one-piece frame, it offers a cleaner, sturdier structure that fits naturally into today’s modern PC builds. Measuring 120mm across and 25mm thick, it is just as effective as a standard case fan as it is in radiator or heatsink duty, working well in single, dual, or push/pull configurations.

Luminous ARGB Lighting

A full-surface ARGB glow spans every fan blade, producing vivid, dynamic illumination across the rotor. With a standard 5V 3-pin ARGB connection, the GF120R V2 works with leading motherboard lighting software such as ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, and ASRock Polychrome. This gives users full control of colours and effects directly through their chosen ecosystem, provided the system includes a 5V ARGB header or controller.

Optimised Airflow

Building on the strengths of the original, the GF120R V2 delivers airflow up to 70.8CFM at peak. Its PWM 4-pin connector allows precise speed control between 800 and 1600RPM, adjusting cooling performance to match system demand. With a static pressure rating of 1.5mmH2O, it is well-suited for radiator use, push/pull setups, or as front intake and rear exhaust fans in a case. Even at full speed, noise is contained to 27.6dBA, keeping systems cool without becoming intrusive.

Minimalist. Compatible. Easy.

The one-piece bracket design gives the GF120R V2 a polished, subtle look that avoids clutter and pairs easily with a wide range of builds. Available in black or white, it blends neatly into minimalist systems or complements themed builds with coordinated colour schemes. From performance replacements to lighting-centred showcase rigs, it adapts easily to a variety of installation roles.

Long-lasting Reliability

At its core, the GF120R V2 relies on hydraulic dynamic bearings (HDB) for extended lifespan and consistent performance. A large oil reservoir and loop-type lubrication system minimise friction and wear, maintaining smooth operation over time. With a 3-year warranty, Montech backs its durability with long-term support.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Anybody who has been near their share of computer systems will appreciate that not all systems make the same amount of noise. There are a number of reasons for why this is so. Firstly, a computer makes noise for different reasons. Generally, anything mechanical is going to make noise.
