New Directions
To bolster the specialized roles of the center and auxiliary fans, the rotational direction of the center fan has been reversed. This reduces airflow turbulence inside of the cooling array for another boost to the card’s overall thermal performance.
Axial-tech Upgrades
ASUS graphics cards leverage our tried-and-true Axial-tech fan design, with up to three fans working in tandem to satisfy the thermal demands of the new heatsinks. The ROG Strix series central fan benefits from extra blades and full-height ring provide boosted static pressure to blast air directly onto the GPU heat spreader.
Max Contact
To get heat up off the die and into the heatsink array to benefit from the new fan design requires special attention. We use a manufacturing process that polishes the surface of the heat spreader to improve smoothness at the microscopic level. The extra flatness allows for better contact with the die for improved thermal transfer.
Premium Components
Top-shelf capacitors, chokes and MOSFETs are selected to effortlessly delivery hundreds of watts at a milliseconds notice ensuring incredible performance. They’re then soldered to the PCB using our advanced Auto-Extreme manufacturing process. This automated production removes human error and smooth joints on the PCB, ensuring each card meets our rigorous specifications during the 144-hour validation trial.
It’s Cooler Out Back
The protective metal backplate covers a custom shortened PCB, with a wide vent over the heatsink and right fan, allowing hot air to escape towards case exhaust fans, leading to improved airflow and cooler GPU temperatures. A GPU bracket provides extra stability to the critical connection between due and heat spreader.
AURA Sync
A new addressable RGB element can be customized with Armoury Crate to create a uniform look along with other ASUS components. Or turn off the lighting for a more subtle card that will suit any build.

Japanese Capacitor
