These 27"" monitors not only provide more screensize than budget monitors, but also a choice of resolution. The cheapest models have a resolution of 1920 x 1080, also known as 1080p or FullHD; but the majority of monitors are 2560 x 1400 models, also known as 1440p or QHD. HDMI is one of the most popular standards for connecting displays to PCs and laptops along with consumer electronics such as TVs, projectors, Blu-ray players and receivers. Originating in 2002, since then it has evolved into various revisions, adding support for progressively higher resolutions, refresh rates and audio quality.
