What is an NVIDIA DGX Server?
Powered by high performance NVIDIA A100 or H100 GPU accelerators, a DGX server is a complete AI optimised appliance featuring all the hardware, software and support required to deliver the absolute maximum insight from your AI training projects in the minimum time.
Which DGX is right for me?
Available as rackmount server models the DGX family offers Ampere based A100 GPUs or the latest Hopper-based H100 GPUs for the most demanding performance. Hopper-based DGXs also feature the latest ConnectX-7 smartNICs providing low latency networking at speeds of up to 800Gb/s.
Multi Instance GPU
The NVIDIA A100 and H100 architectures, designed for the age of elastic computing, deliver the next giant leap by providing unmatched acceleration at every scale The resulting GPUs bring massive amounts of compute to datacentres, including Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) which expands the performance and value of each GPU. MIG can partition the GPU into as many as seven instances, each fully isolated with their own high-bandwidth memory, cache, and compute cores.
NVLink & NVSwitch
Scaling applications across multiple GPUs requires extremely fast movement of data. The third generation of NVIDIA NVLink in the DGX appliances doubles the GPU-to-GPU direct bandwidth to 600GB/s, almost 20x more than PCIe 4.0. When paired with the latest generation of NVIDIA NVSwitch, all the GPUs in the server can communicate with each other at full NVLink speed for incredibly fast training.
NVIDIA GPU Cloud
The NVIDIA GPU Cloud (NGC) provides researchers and data scientists with simple access to a comprehensive catalogue of GPU-optimised software tools for deep learning and high performance computing (HPC) that take full advantage of NVIDIA GPUs. The NGC container registry features NVIDIA tuned, tested, certified, and maintained containers for the top deep learning frameworks. It also offers third-party managed HPC application containers, NVIDIA HPC visualisation containers, and partner applications.
NVIDIA Networking
The NVIDIA GPUs within each DGX appliance, need lightning fast connectivity to match their stellar internal performance. This is delivered by utilising NVIDIA Networking ConnectX-6 or ConnectX-7 network interface cards (NICs) delivering blistering speeds of up to 800Gb/s either using either InfiniBand or Ethernet connectivity. Low latency is ensured too, by employing off-loading technology that moves workload away form the CPU and onto the NIC to improve performance and throughput.
