Yamaha FP9D Direct Drive Single Pedal

Direct-Drive Precision with a Fully Customisable Playing FeelBuilt for drummers who want a direct connection between footwork and beater response, the Yamaha FP9D combines a precision direct-drive mechanism with extensive adjustment options. Its direct link transfers movement from the footboard to the beater with an immediate, controlled feel, making it a strong choice for players who value accuracy, consistency and fast response across a wide range of playing styles.

The adjustable drive link lets you fine-tune the pedal’s action to suit your technique, while the quick-adjust spring mechanism makes tension changes straightforward. Beater and footboard angles can be set independently, so you can dial in a comfortable playing position and recreate your preferred setup with confidence. The beater itself accepts removable aluminium and brass weights, allowing you to tailor its balance, feel and impact to your kit and playing style.

Smooth operation is supported by Yamaha’s axle-stabilising bearing chamber and ball-bearing drive connection, while the low-profile hinge helps maintain fluid footboard movement. Anti-skid heel spikes improve stability during energetic playing, keeping the pedal firmly planted as you work through demanding patterns and dynamic changes.

Practical details make the FP9D equally suited to rehearsal, studio sessions and live performance. Its easy-access spring adjustment is designed to stay securely in position, and the supplied semi-hard carrying case protects the pedal between gigs. A drum key is also included, giving you the essentials for setup and adjustment.

With its direct-drive response, configurable feel and solid construction, the Yamaha FP9D offers drummers a highly adjustable single pedal that puts precision and personal playing feel first.
