Rated 3 out of 5 by from Got it because it was cheap but didn't work for intended perpose Got this for my Samsung S4 that has a broken screen. However it did not work. Also did not work on other devices that should have been MHL enabled. Not sure why not. This part now resides in my spare parts bin.

Does the adapter have a charging socket?

Can one connect a charger while watching? (Samsung S3)? Is there an MHL socket on the adapter for charging?

I have one of these and it charges my S7 and S4 while its plugged in. You will need another cable however (e.g. the one that came with your device).
