Now, her long-awaited signature snare drum has arrived. Over the course of more than two years of development and refinement, Anika focused on three things: a deep low end that enhances her expressive range, clear snare wire definition that preserves every note even in the most intricate passages, and a look that reflects her lifelong love for vintage snares.
The shell is aluminum, known for its warm tone and excellent projection. To meet Anika's request for a powerful low end, the size was set at a deeper 6.5". To add rigidity to the naturally soft aluminum, four grooves were carved into the center of the shell, and the bent edge was extended a few millimeters beyond the usual specification. This design preserves the natural resonance of aluminum while achieving exceptional strength. Paired with Sound Arc Hoops that focus the fundamental tone, the snare delivers a sound that combines rich low end, excellent projection and clarity, ensuring every single note is heard.
Another standout feature is the newly developed internal "Mod-Tone Muffler." With one simple touch, the mute can be switched on or off, and by turning the dial, its pressure can be adjusted seamlessly—allowing players to create a wide range of sounds with just one instrument. This signature snare embodies Anika's broad musicality and expressive depth. 1.2mm Seamless Aluminum ShellThe aluminum shell, known for its crisp attack and warm resonance, has been set at a deeper 6.5” to deliver a rich low end. Four grooves carved into the center of the shell and an extended bent edge—slightly longer than on other aluminum models—add rigidity to both the center and edge areas. As a result, the natural warmth of aluminum is preserved while producing a clear, focused tone with strong definition.
2.3mm Sound Arc HoopsTo achieve the excellent projection and sharp attack Anika demands, the snare is fitted with TAMA’s original “Sound Arc Hoops.” These hoops deliver an immediate, defined response with controlled overtones and a solid, powerful sound. The result is a backbeat with presence and clarity that extends even to the finest note articulations.
Mod-Tone MufflerAn internal muffler featuring the Mod-Tone System allows instant on/off switching with a single touch—just like flipping the snare strainer. This makes it easy to change your sound even in the middle of a performance. By simply turning the dial, the pressure and surface area of the muffler can also be adjusted seamlessly, greatly expanding your sound-shaping possibilities.
20-strand Starclassic Hi-Carbon Steel Snare WiresThe snare wires feature high-carbon steel, delivering a crisp and articulate response. To match Anika’s pursuit of projection and clarity, the wires are secured with a cord attachment method instead of the strap method used on standard models.

StickerOn each signature snare drum, a special sticker bearing the artist’s signature is placed on the inside of every shell. The artist signs each sticker by hand, one by one, adding a personal touch that makes each signature snare drum especially unique.
