But of course, the most important of any drum program software, is how it sounds. SSD has always focussed primarily on how the drums sound, and SSD5 seriously raises the bar! Included in SSD5 is a new physically modelled drum playback algorithm which authentically replicates the exact sound of a real drummer hitting a drum.

The resulting drum sound are sounds which will convince even the most veteran engineers that these are real studio drum sounds. SSD5 showcases the new ‘Deluxe 2’ series of its drums, these drums feature more than double the velocity and multisampled layers of any virtual drums which have come before it.

There’re pre-processed kits, raw kits, jazz kits, rock kits, metal kits, indie kits, vintage kits and Steven Slate even included kits modelled upon famous kits like the iconic ‘Old Zep’ kit. All in all, there’s 138 drum kit presets, 84 kicks, 77 snares, 58 toms, 11 hi-hats, 14 crashes, 6 rides, 4 splashes, 3 chinas, 1 clap, 1 tambourine and 1 cowbell (of course!)

Use SSD5 with a MIDI controller or electronic drum set, and mapping drums out becomes so easy to do with SSD’s MIDI Map Converter.
