Not compatible with multi-slot Thunderbolt 1 expansion systems that have been upgraded to Thunderbolt 2, because they still have PCIe Gen 1.1 slots. Compatible with single-slot Thunderbolt 1 PCIe expansion systems that have been upgraded to Thunderbolt 2, because they have PCIe Gen 2 slots.
