6-Voice Polyphonic Analogue Synthesizer
Sequential - OB-6 Desktop
Portable Classic Oberheim SoundThe OB-6 desktop is just as powerful and easy to use as the OB-6 Keyboard. It has the same controls as the keyboard version and delivers the same results with ease of use. Just like the OB-6 Keyboard, all parameters are just as accessible, with full-sized knobs and switches and a comfortable, intuitive layout.
The same huge sounds are delivered just like the keyboard, because on the inside it’s exactly the same. The same analog signal path with discrete VCOs and VCFs. The same high-quality digital effects. The same classic Oberheim sound that has been acclaimed from musicians around the world.
There is also a poly chain feature so that any two OB-6s can be paired for twelve-voice polyphony.
An Exclusive Collaboration
Classic Tones With A Modern EdgeThe OB-6 Desktop is an exclusive collaboration between Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim, two of the most influential designers in poly synth history. The OB-6 Desktop takes the classic bold Tom Oberheim sound with the true voltage-controlled oscillators, 2-pole filter, and amplifiers, and adds modern features such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more. No other modern analog poly synth can deliver such a unique and huge signature sound.
Classic Oberheim Tones
Voltage-ControlledThe OB-6 Desktop sound engine is influenced by Tom’s original SEM, the heart of his highly rated 4-voice and 8- voice synthesizers.
It features two distinct voltage-controlled oscillators including a sub-oscillator per voice with continuously variable waveshapes including sawtooth and variable-width pulse, plus a triangle wave on oscillator 2.
The vintage Oberheim-inspired 2-pole, state-variable, resonant filter provides low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch functionality. Voltage-controlled amplifiers finish the all-analog signal path.
Dual Effects
Studio-QualityThe dual effects section gives you studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus, flangers, and faithful recreations of Tom’s original phase shifter and ring modulator.
Whilst the effects are digital the 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analog signal path.
X-Mod & Poly Step Sequencing
Extended FunctionalityAlso built into the OB-6 Desktop is the X-Mod, which gives you a wider range of tonal possibilities, making it easy to create dramatic and unique sounds. Modulation sources are filter envelope and oscillator 2, both with bi-polar control. Features include oscillator 1 frequency, oscillator 1 shape, oscillator 1 pulse width, filter cutoff, and filter mode.
The polyphonic step sequencer offers up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. You can create sequences polyphonically, with rests, and sync to an external MIDI clock. The fully fledged arpeggiator can be synced to external MIDI clock too. The unison mode includes configurable voice count (1-6 voices), chord memory, and key modes.
Easy To Program
Easy AccessVirtually all the OB-6 Desktop functions can be controlled at ease with the knob-per-function on the front panel. 500 permanent factory programs and 500 rewritable user programs are included.
Turning on the Manual button engages the live panel mode, where the sound of the OB-6 Desktop switches to its current front panel settings. In this mode, you can see what you hear.
Easy To Play
Perfect On Stage Or In The StudioThis hugely powerful analog desktop module comes comes small enough to fit into a backpack, which gives you perfect portability for stage or studio use.
