18” birch SHELLThe commanding, domineering stage presence and irreplaceable feel of a full-size kick drum is something all drummers understand and identify with. Now, thanks to Roland’s ‘KD-180’, it’s possible to incorporate the presence and performance of a traditional acoustic kick drum into your V-Drums kit! This ready-to-play solution sports a standard 18”, high-grade, birch acoustic drum shell with Roland’s revolutionary kick trigger electronics preinstalled.
Roland’s intelligent and innovative air-damper mechanics work in tandem with the 18” acoustic shell to ‘move air’ and offer resistance as the beater hits the head, delivering reliable and precision triggering with a natural feel. The ‘KD-180’ works perfectly well with double kick pedals, and is compatible with most V-Drums sound modules. Roland’s KD-180 is also a magnificent fit for hybrid acoustic-electronic setups, melding together the appearance and presence of a traditional kick, with the convenience of triggering any drum sound you so wish!
