Rated 5 out of 5 by UKNightWatch from WOW! Just ... WOW! I bought this microphone (kit) as I wanted a replacement for my aging PC USB mic (good enough but somewhat aged). I have had many microphones over the years but they have been very much on the budget end of the market. So I thought I'd treat myself to this. I set this microphone up via the ALESIS MULTIMIX 4-Channel Mixer I also got from SCAN. This microphone is feature rich, easy to setup and very,very good quality. Within thirty minute of starting, I had this microphone (with the mixer) setup and was recording test audio on my PC. Though it may seem a little daunting at first, the set up of this mic is a doddle. My intended use for the microphone is video voice over but I'm sure other uses (as described in sales literature and on RODE website) will get amazing results. I kind of do not like the sound of my own voice recorded so I did two things to test this mic. First I played my voice recorded back to a friend I can trust to tell me if I get things wrong. The friend was impressed with what he heard. I then recorded the friend singing a simple song. OK! So, my friend is no pop star! The recording was excellent though - very faithful to what was being recorded with no 'noise' or background 'interference'. The onboard 'switches' for user control of this mic can be used to improve recording or set the mic up for different types of recording. Another test I did was play (badly) some ukulele and do a brief recording. The result was great. As I risk writing a wall of text, I'll finish up with this recomendation - if you are looking for a very good quality microphone at a good price - GET THIS MICROPHONE! Note: the Small Studio Mic Desk Stand by Citronic I'm using at this time is adequate for my needs!
