those HI-HAT TECHNIQUESRoland’s ‘VH-10’ V-Hi-Hat utilises a single-cymbal floating design which is able to be easily mounted and played up on a traditional acoustic hi-hat stand. It delivers a strikingly similar playing feel as an acoustic hi-hat, and features the same natural rebound feel and swinging motion of an acoustic hi-hat.
The rate and depth at which you advance the pedal of the hi-hat stand smoothly, greatly varies the tone of the cymbal from open to closed, and it’s possible to also use hi-hat techniques such as half-closed playing and foot-splash.
Roland’s VH-10 enables you to responsively express the tonal change which occurs when you hit the hi-hat in the closed state before immediately opening it. It’s even possible to differentiate between strikes on the bow and edge of the VH-10 too!
