Comprehensive Monitoring

connect two analogue stereo sourcesSPL’s Control One has everything you could need for in-depth, nuanced monitoring. It’s possible to audition your projects through two switchable pairs of monitors, alongside a subwoofer which is switched on/off with speaker pair A. With Control One it’s possible to connect two analogue stereo sources, enabling you to hear your mix as well as a reference – a hugely useful feature for comparing mixes.
The selected input signal is routed direct to the Control One’s line-level output, allowing it to loop between separate devices without ever losing an output. On top of all this, there’s three monitoring modes to choose from, Stereo, Mono and Channel Swap.
Experience the Phonitor MatrixWe all know that listening to a mix through speakers and through headphones presents a very different mix. This is why music mixed on headphones often doesn’t ‘sound right’ on speakers, and vice versa.
Control One helps to level the playing field thanks to three parameters: Crossfeed, Speaker Angle and Centre Level. On Control One, Centre Level is by default set tp -1dB and the Speaker Angle to 30 degrees – values with which SPL determined will reflect the most common real-life scenarios. The Crossfeed setting sets the level of crosstalk between stereo channels.
Premium Components Throughout

push-pull Class AB designLike all SPL products, Control One is made using only the highest quality components, and the results of this dedication to quality clearly shows. Delivering a 10Hz – 200kHz frequency range, 121dBu of dynamic range, -99dBu of self-noise and 0.002% of total harmonic distortion.
The headphone amplifiers output utilises a push-pull Class AB design with more than enough power to drive most of today’s most popular headphones. Control One ships with a 12v plug-in power supply unit, along with a secondary internal power supply which generates +/-17 volts for the Control One’s analogue audio sections, achieving up to +22dBu of input gain in total.
