'Medina' Series
Levinson - LJ-43

'Medina' Series“The Medina River runs near San Antonio, Texas in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Its shores are known for lush vegetation and abundant wildlife. The Levinson Medina brings you lush warm tones and abundant volume with a percussive sound and controlled bass response resulting from the 24.75 inch (628 mm) scale length and the round-shoulder body design. A perfect pleasure to play – straight from the heart.”
– Gary Levinson, President of Levinson Guitars
Simplistic harmony sets the Medina apart from other slope shoulder dreadnoughts. Levinson’s Medina LJ-43 is warmer and fatter sounding than conventional dreadnoughts. The 24 ¾” scale reacts quickly and smoothly to fingerstyle techniques with a percussive attack and excellent sustain, enhanced by the light, voiced Engelmann spruce top. The East Indian Rosewood back and sides give the instrument a unique power of projection while retaining excellent tonal balance. Levinson’s Medina LJ-43 is a brilliantly versatile acoustic guitar, lending itself equally well to all kinds of acoustic playing styles!

Round-Shoulder Dreadnought Body
Wrapped in 'Striped Ivoroid' Binding

PREMIUM HARDWARE THROUGHOUTThe body of Levinson’s LJ-43 features a ‘voiced solid Englemann spruce’ top, soft and pale in colour, but with a complex tonality and exquisite clarity. The LJ-43’s back and sides are made from Solid East Indian Rosewood, famed for its huge bottom and crisp mid tones. Indian Rosewood has been a staple in acoustic guitar body's for decades now due to it's tonal versatility which makes it a great all-rounder!
The LJ-43’s neck was made using mahogany and the necks shape itself is described by Levinson as ‘Low Profile C-shape’ and sits in the fretting hand comfortably with a natural feel across the entire neck.
The hardware which adorns the LJ-43 is nothing short of stellar too, you’ll find an Ebony bridge, compensated bone saddles and vintage ‘butter bean’ style tuners, all of which help give the LJ-43 a real elegant and refined look along with the gorgeous ‘Striped Ivoroid’ binding which wraps around this beautiful dreadnought-style acoustic guitar.
