The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Looking Case I have owned the NZXT Phantom Enthusiast previous to this one and liked it but wanted to upgrade as I liked the look of the 820 along with its features. This case suited my needs as its slightly bigger than the Phantom Enthusiast so with the 140mm fans included over the 120mm fans previous case it seems to have a better air flow keeping the inside temp low, it also has a built in SD Card Reader which I had a separate one with the other case making this neater looking with out taking up space, the Hue LED's are a good little extra too as I was just going to stick with my PC's theme of White and Blue but I find myself using different colours which gives the PC that varied look so don't get to boring sticking with the same colour, there are inbuilt air filters too which so handy as it reduces the dust build up inside although won't stop it completely. The bad bits are the drive trays I personally think are a little flimsy and not very strong, while I was installing my SSD and HDD in the bays the SSD tray would often spring out of place from the force of the cable so that design could of been improved but other than that its a great case. 05 October 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Case Its a great case Price is reasonable .. the hard drive holders/trays aren't very good to be honest i dont understand how to use them theyre a bit over engineered... supposedly quick mounting or changing but it would be quicker to screw a screw in instead of fiddling around with this system. the case has a load of fans and features great large format case 14 August 2015
