Isolated Power SupplyAs an innovative musical instrument brand, NUX has built several well-known pedals and multi-effects. And for users who use high gain distortion pedals, finding an adequate power supply tends to be a headache. While a DC daisy-chain can drive several pedals, the combination of analog and digital pedals on a single chain can result in annoying ground noise. NUX set out to build a reliable, extreme-low-noise, lightweight, universal, high current, all-isolated power supply. In their research, we found that many manufacturers used “toroidal transformers” in their power supply solutions. Although these transformers can provide clean power, the compromises in efficiency, weight, and size motivated us to seek a more optimal solution, which has been named Zeus.
This compact unit offers 6 high‐current isolated DC power outputs, each supported by an individual isolated switching power transformer. ZEUS Jr. ensures a clean and stable powersupply for your pedals.These days, guitarists like to integrate digital post effects like Eventide®, Strymon®, …etc. So, ZEUS Jr. comes with 4 outputs (9V/500mA*3 | 9V/300mA*1) and 2 adjustable high current outputs (9V/300mA | 12v/225mA | 18v/150mA). This enables you to use your favorite Fuzz or Phaser with the adjustable output to find the best sound.
ZEUS Jr. is significantly more efficient than linear power supplies.Our engineers tested the output efficiency of ZEUS Jr. with different input voltages. The average output efficiency is 76.7% with 15V input, and 77.3% with 24V input. Whether working with low currents pedals or high currents DSP pedals, ZEUS Jr, handles it well with extremely low noise. Unlike other switching power supplies, which use multi-stage filtering to eliminate the noise, the self-regulated output design of ZEUS Jr. has ultra-low impedance that offers you clean power and retains great dynamics!
