More accurately, this is a pair of Peaks and a keyboard now combined into one monster synth and then some. No longer a monophonic sound source, this bi-timbral synth offers all the same sound engine features of the Peak and then doubles them. Summit is a 16-voice synth that puts the power of two Peaks at your fingertips, enabling two completely independent patches to be split, layered across the keyboard or switched between on the fly.

Summit takes Peak’s architecture and workflow to new heights It also expands on Peak’s layout through making good use of all the extra front panel space. Now those previously ‘hidden’ controls and functions are now directly accessible on the front panel with FM routing, LFOs 3 and 4, arpeggiator parameters and more now becoming far more hands on and intuitive to use whilst designing your audio. Summit also features numerous new filter options and an audio input for processing external sources with range of effects.

truly impressive analogue credentials Driving the Summit are three New Oxford Oscillators per voice, hosted on the FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chip. As well as generating authentic analogue-style waveforms at incredibly high resolution, this also facilitates FM and wavetable synthesis for the design of rich, complex and highly textural raw tones.

Each voice feeds into a true stereo signal path comprising dual analogue filters, three stages of analogue distortion and analogue VCAs; while a wealth of modulation assignment options and three colourful effects bring movement to your patches. Designed with Chris Hugget who was responsible for the legendary OSCar and Novations own Bass Station range, Summit’s analogue credentials are truly impressive.
