Note and Scale modes tailor input to the key of the composition, and an entirely new feature is ‘Chord Mode’, which is an inspired tool for creating and layering harmonies. Launchpad Pro is even aware of when you’re drumming and places your drum rack on the visual grid.

Expanded CapabilitiesThe v1.2 firmware update for Launchpad Pro MK3 brings in a host of brand new features. The main new feature is unquantised recording, this allows you to record into micro steps for off-grid beats with more feel and dynamics. Perform Velocity, Mutation and Probability Controls are now available allowing you to add even more expression to patterns and sequences.

The new Legacy mode reflects the layout used in legacy Launchpad software and projects, which is very useful for bringing up lightshow layouts. Trigger threshold gives you the option adjust the sensitivity of the pads to the playing style.

The newly added controls unlock KeyStep 37’s unique and redesigned ‘Chord’ mode. Select from 12 different chord types, a wide choice of strum effects and spread the voices out into complex velocity-sensitive parts which respond like a genuine stringed instrument. Map out KeyStep 37’s 3-octave keyboard range with the scale which you think suits best via ‘Scale’ mode! No matter which key you play, it will automatically quantize to the nearest note in the chosen scale.
