Product Overview Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 CPU Cooler
Noctua's NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 cooler is ideal for customers who are looking for a low profile CPU cooler for their AM4 CPU. Compact and quiet, with excellent performance.

Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from international hardware websites and magazines, Noctua's compact NH-L9x65 has become a standard choice among 65mm tall low-profile coolers. The SE-AM4 version is a dedicated special edition for AMD's AM4 (Ryzen) platform featuring the latest SecuFirm2 mounting system for AM4. Topped off with the renowned quiet NF-A9x14 PWM 92mm fan, Noctua's proven NT-H1 thermal compound and a full 6-year manufacturer's warranty, the NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 forms a complete premium-quality solution for AM4-based ITX builds and HTPC systems.

Features:
• Low profile cooler for AMD's AM4 socket
• Only 65mm in height
• Ideally for mini ITX builds
• Supplied with NF-A9x14 premium fan
• Six year warranty Features Award-winning NH-L9x65 cooler
Tens of thousands of enthusiast users all over the world swear by the NH-L9x65's quality and performance. Recommended by more than 100 international hardware websites and magazines, it is renowned for being one of the best sub-70mm low-profile heatsinks on the market.

Dedicated special edition for AM4
The NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 brings the NH-L9x65's signature quiet cooling performance to AMD's new AM4 platform. With its highly compact design and low profile, it is ideal for cooling lower TDP AM4 CPUs in HTPC or Small Form Factor cases.

65mm low profile
Due to its compact heatsink and the 14mm thin NF-A9x14 low profile fan, the NH-L9x65 stands only 65mm tall (the same height as low-profile expansion cards), which makes it ideal for use in compact HTPCs or Small Form Factor cases that offer limited clearance for CPU coolers.

100% RAM compatibility
Being 95mm wide, the NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 complies with the AMD AM4 socket's keep-out zone. This means that it won't cause issues with chipset coolers and doesn’t overhang the RAM slots, making it fully compatible with tall memory modules.

100% compatibility with PCIe cards on mini-ITX
Many mini-ITX mainboards have the PCIe slot sitting close to the socket zone. While larger coolers with 120mm or 140mm fans that exceed this zone may block the PCIe slot, the compact NH-L9x65 provides full compatibility with PCIe cards.

Easy access to near-socket connectors
Many low-profile coolers use larger fans or heatsinks in order to achieve sufficient cooling performance, but by protruding over the socket zone, they make it difficult or even impossible to reach near-socket connectors on tightly packed ITX mainboards. Thanks to its compact footprint, the NH-L9x65 provides easy access to all connectors and components.

NF-A9x14 PWM premium fan
The highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan features Noctua's proprietary AAO frame as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures. Supporting PWM for fully automatic speed control, the NF-A9x14 allows the NH-L9x65 to stay remarkably quiet.

Low-Noise Adaptor
Allowing to reduce the maximum speed of the NF-A9x14 fan from 2500 to 1800 RPM, the included (L.N.A.) makes it possible to achieve near-silent setups using CPUs with up to 65W TDP.

SecuFirm2 mounting system for AM4
Noctua's SecuFirm2 mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and ease of use. In order to achieve the best compatibility and to match the airflow path inside the case, the SecuFirm2 mounting for AM4 makes it possible to install the cooler either in standard orientation or turned by 90° (motherboard dependant).

NT-H1 thermal compound
Having received more than 100 awards and recommendations from hardware journalists around the world, Noctua's NT-H1 is a proven professional grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease of use and outstanding reliability.

6-year manufacturer's warranty
Noctua products are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the supplied NF-A9x14 features an MTBF rating of more than 150,000 hours and the entire NH-L9x65 package comes with a full 6-year manufacturer's warranty.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Reviews
Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 AM4 Compact Quiet Low Profile CPU Cooler, 14.8 - 23.6dB, 600 - 2500rpm, 33.8CFM, is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good in a pinch I am running an non OC 1800x, I idle at around 35-46c, a little high for my tastes but not dangerous levels, on load I reach up to 70-80c, well within acceptable operating temps So in a nutshell it works, However I would like to see my temps at least 20c lower than this, to that end this cooler is not designed for best performance As it is listed as a compact quiet and low profile I will go into detail about those point specifically, It is not as 'small' as its sister cooler but it does indeed sit well below the clearance of most high performance graphics cards, I have a 1080 TI and the reaches barley half way along the width of the GFX card, Clearance between RAM and GFX card is as you might expect, with at least an inch clearance between these components, more in the case of the GFX card. Using a turbo fan speed profile on my MOBO, Crosshair VI Hero, I do not hear the fan over my system fans or the transistors in the GFX card, my PC is situated on my desk a foot away from me, At full power you will hear the fan but it is in no way too loud and the only time I have noticed the fan speed up to full is under synthetic loads. Summary: The Noctua NH-L9x65 is a great cooler if you're not planning on putting your CPU though it's paces and serves well in low form factor cases and situations where case real-estate is limited. That said if you are looking for performance this is not the cooler for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runs way too hot When I read the other review, I thought the guy had made a silly installation mistake or something, but how wrong I was, this cooler keeps my 1600x at 70c IDLE! I have yet to stress it I am afraid to, but when doing a lot of PDF work it hits 90 nearly instantly! I do NOT recommend this cooler

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hopeless Not suitable for 1700X, it doesn't even keep the CPU cool enough to run at full CPU load for more than 1 minute (this is stock settings, no overclocking). So disappointing.
