Designed for dependable everyday computing and gaming, the mATX MSI PRO B550M-B combines the AMD B550 chipset and AM4 socket with support for AMD Ryzen 5000, 5000 G-Series, 4000 G-Series, 3000, and 3000 G-Series desktop processors. With two DDR4 memory slots supporting up to 64GB, PCIe 4.0 graphics connectivity, two M.2 slots, four SATA 6Gbps ports, 1Gbps LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, and front USB Type-C connectivity, it provides a capable foundation for compact AMD-based systems. MSI's Core Boost, Memory Boost, Frozr AI Cooling, Audio Boost, and EZ DIY features further enhance performance, cooling, usability, and system management.

AMD Ryzen AM4 Platform

The PRO B550M-B uses the AMD B550 chipset and AM4 socket, supporting AMD Ryzen 5000 Series, 5000 G-Series, 4000 G-Series, 3000 Series, and 3000 G-Series desktop processors. This provides a flexible platform for building compact systems around a broad range of compatible Ryzen CPUs.

DDR4 Memory Support

Two DDR4 DIMM slots support up to 64GB of system memory in dual-channel mode. Compatible memory can operate at speeds up to 4600+MHz through A-XMP overclocking, depending on the installed processor and memory configuration, while non-ECC unbuffered memory is supported.

PCIe 4.0 Graphics Expansion

The primary PCIe 4.0 x16 slot connects directly to the processor, providing high-bandwidth connectivity for compatible graphics cards. Three additional PCIe x16-length slots operate at PCIe x1 speeds, providing further expansion options for compatible add-in cards.

Lightning Gen 4 M.2 Storage

Two M.2 slots provide fast NVMe storage expansion, with the primary M.2 slot supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA mode and the secondary slot supporting PCIe 3.0 x4. The slots support compatible 2242, 2260 and 2280 drives, while four SATA 6Gbps ports provide additional storage connectivity. RAID 0, 1 and 10 are supported for SATA storage, while M.2 NVMe drives support RAID 0 and RAID 1.

Core Boost Power Delivery

MSI Core Boost combines an optimised motherboard layout with an enhanced power design to provide fast and precise current delivery to the CPU. The design supports multi-core processors while creating suitable conditions for CPU overclocking and stable operation during demanding workloads.

Intelligent System Cooling

The PRO B550M-B features Frozr AI Cooling, which monitors CPU and GPU temperatures and automatically adjusts system fan duty to help maintain appropriate cooling performance. Dedicated CPU and system fan headers support compatible cooling solutions, while the chipset heatsink is designed to maintain efficient heat dissipation.

Wi-Fi 6E Connectivity

Integrated AMD Wi-Fi 6E provides wireless networking across the 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz bands, with support for 160MHz channels and transfer rates of up to 2.4Gbps. Bluetooth 5.2 is also included for compatible wireless peripherals and accessories. Wi-Fi 6E 6GHz availability is subject to regional regulations.

High-Speed USB Connectivity

The PRO B550M-B provides rear USB connectivity including USB 5Gbps Type-A and USB 10Gbps Type-A, alongside USB 2.0. A front-panel USB 5Gbps Type-C connector provides convenient connectivity for compatible PC cases and modern peripherals, with additional internal USB headers available for expansion.

1Gbps Networking

A Realtek RTL8111H 1Gbps LAN controller provides wired network connectivity for gaming, streaming, productivity, and everyday online use. MSI AI LAN Manager can automatically classify and prioritise latency-sensitive applications, allowing users to prioritise games and customise application traffic and bandwidth.

Enhanced Audio

The integrated Realtek ALC897 audio codec provides 7.1-channel High Definition Audio. MSI Audio Boost combines a high-definition audio processor, high-quality audio capacitors and audio jacks, isolated audio signalling, and de-pop protection to provide an enhanced audio experience for gaming and multimedia.

EZ DIY System Management

MSI's EZ DIY features simplify installation, troubleshooting, and system configuration. EZ Debug LEDs indicate the source of hardware problems during startup, while EZ Mounting helps simplify motherboard installation. A Flash BIOS Button provides a convenient way to update the BIOS, while MSI Driver Utility Installer can automatically detect suitable drivers and utilities once connected to the internet.
