The combination of a vacuum tube plus analogue circuitry means that the Nubass’s sound is unmistakably warm, thick and authentic. The transistor ladder filter gives it the identity of a classic bass synth, along with overdrive and gargantuan distortion.

The Nutube houses a pair of vacuum tubes, one is used to generate a sawtooth/square wave in the oscillator, and the other is in the drive circuit of the sub oscillator, which adds the depth and warmth one octave below. The oscillators provide the circuit structure which really makes the harmonic character jump out of the Nubass. This is the power of tubes.
