With a roasted poplar body, Canadian roasted maple neck and a pair of P90 pickups, it offers a useful combination of warmth, punch and clarity without straying too far from the familiar feel of a traditional electric guitar. The 25.5" scale neck features a comfortable Modern C profile and a 9.5" radius fingerboard, with 22 frets and a 1.65" nut width. It feels familiar under the hand, making the JJ-300 equally suited to chord work, riffs and lead playing. The roasted maple construction also gives the neck a smooth, contemporary feel, while the double-action truss rod allows for straightforward setup adjustments.

The two P90 pickups are the main attraction here. Compared with a conventional single-coil, P90s offer a thicker, more forceful sound with plenty of midrange presence, making them a good fit for blues, rock, indie and anything that benefits from a little extra push into the amplifier. The neck pickup provides a fuller, rounder voice, while the bridge pickup brings more bite and definition. The middle position balances the two for a useful all-round sound. Controls are kept simple with a master volume, master tone and three-way pickup selector. There’s no unnecessary complication, just three distinct pickup combinations that respond well to changes in playing dynamics and amp settings.

A two-point tremolo bridge adds some pitch movement without changing the guitar’s straightforward character, while the six-saddle design allows each string to be intonated individually. Chrome machine heads and hardware complete the specification, and the polymer nut and double-action truss rod make sensible provision for future maintenance and setup work. Finished in Sea Foam Green with a tortoiseshell pickguard and aged-style control knobs and pickup covers, the JJ-300 P90 has plenty of vintage-inspired character without feeling like a straight reproduction. It’s a good choice for players who want the feel of an offset guitar but prefer the thicker, more assertive response of P90 pickups.
