The Inter-Tech NAS-8 is a compact NAS-focused PC case designed to provide a flexible foundation for building a high-capacity network-attached storage system. Supporting ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards, the NAS-8 features eight hot-swap drive trays connected to two 12Gb/s backplanes, providing convenient access to installed storage while keeping the internal layout organised. Two pre-installed 120mm fans and perforated slot brackets support airflow through the chassis, while front USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A and Type-C connectivity provides convenient access to compatible peripherals. With support for SFX power supplies, up to seven low-profile PCIe expansion cards, CPU coolers up to 75mm high and low-profile graphics cards up to 250mm long, the NAS-8 provides the flexibility needed for compact NAS, server and storage-focused systems.

Designed specifically as a NAS stand case, the NAS-8 supports ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards, allowing you to select a platform suited to your storage, networking and processing requirements. Its 240 x 295 x 362mm chassis provides a compact footprint while accommodating a range of NAS-oriented hardware.

Access Eight Drives with Hot-Swap Trays

Eight hot-swap drive trays provide convenient access to installed storage, allowing compatible drives to be removed and replaced without dismantling the main system. The trays accommodate 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives, providing flexibility for HDD and SSD-based storage configurations.

Keep Storage Connected with Dual 12Gb/s Backplanes

Two integrated 12Gb/s backplanes connect the eight hot-swap bays to the system, with each backplane providing one SFF-8643 data connection and two Molex power connections. This arrangement provides a structured connection between the installed drives and the host storage controller or motherboard.

Keep Your Storage System Cool

Two pre-installed 120mm 3-pin fans provide airflow through the chassis, with the ventilation design complemented by perforated slot brackets. The backplanes can supply power to the installed fans, although fan speed cannot be regulated through the backplanes. Up to three additional 80mm fans can also be installed, providing further scope to tailor airflow to the system's hardware and storage configuration.

Connect Peripherals from the Front

The front panel provides one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port and one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, providing convenient connectivity for external storage, peripherals and other compatible devices. Combined headphone and microphone connections are also provided for compatible audio equipment.

Expand with Low-Profile PCIe Hardware

The NAS-8 provides space for up to seven low-profile PCIe expansion cards, allowing the system to be equipped with additional storage controllers, network adapters and other expansion hardware. The low-profile configuration is suited to the compact dimensions of the chassis.

Fit Compact Components

The chassis supports SFX power supplies, CPU coolers up to 75mm high and low-profile graphics cards up to 250mm long. These clearances provide flexibility for selecting suitable components while maintaining the compact NAS-focused design.

Add Internal Storage Beyond the Hot-Swap Bays

In addition to its eight hot-swap 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive trays, the NAS-8 provides mounting space for six internal 2.5-inch drives, giving the system further storage flexibility for SSDs and other compatible 2.5-inch devices.
