Compact Density in a 2U Footprint
The IPC 2U-2412 focuses on delivering storage expansion in installations where vertical rack space is limited. Twelve hot-swap 2.5"/3.5" bays on the front panel supply a strong foundation for backup arrays, edge servers, or compact virtualisation hosts that still need high-capacity drives ready for continuous use. An internal bracket adds support for either a single 3.5" drive or a pair of 2.5" devices, giving you a clean place to position boot media or logging disks without stealing hot-swap capacity.
Airflow That Serves a Full Drive Stack
With four 80mm fans positioned directly behind the drive module, the airflow path is purpose-built for fully populated storage configurations. The layout pulls fresh air across every installed drive and pushes heat rearwards in a straight, unobstructed channel, helping maintain safe operating temperatures even when the full 12-bay array is active for extended periods.
SAS-Ready Hot-Swap Backplane
A full S-ATA/SAS backplane with SFF-8087 connectivity makes the chassis compatible with enterprise SAS controllers as well as high-density SATA deployments. Quick-access carriers and direct front placement support fast swap cycles and keep maintenance straightforward in live rack environments. For SATA-only controllers, optional SFF-8087 cross-over cables ensure clean compatibility when required.
Hardware Flexibility for 2U Builds
The chassis accommodates Mini-ITX, Micro-ATX, ATX, E-ATX and SSI-EEB motherboards, opening the door to everything from compact single-socket boards to dual-CPU platforms. Full-length cards up to 345mm fit comfortably, allowing RAID adapters, networking cards, or acceleration hardware to be deployed without constraint. Cooling solutions up to 65mm in height are supported, aligning well with typical 2U-class heatsinks and blower coolers.
Durable, Service-Friendly Construction
A steel frame between 1.0 and 1.2mm thick keeps the chassis rigid during installation and servicing. Perforated low-profile slot brackets improve internal airflow, snap-lock lid access speeds up hardware changes, and the front panel provides power, reset, activity indicators, network LEDs and temperature alerts for quick diagnostics. Two USB 3.0 block-connector ports up front support local setup and maintenance in the rack.
