Rated 5 out of 5 by MrM2 Incredible overclock potential for budget money.
I have this CPU now running all day at 4.6 Ghz rock solid stable with FurMark, with temps of 68-71c at full load.
Such amazing bang for your buck. Well done Intel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teagz superb chip at a great price
This little chip is amazing, currently running at 4.5 Ghz at 1.2v runs most top games at max GPU settings when paired with a GTX 960 4GB. Easily the best bang for buck money can buy before hitting the i5 range at almost triple the price!

Have not tried overclocking this little gem of a cpu yet, but for the price I don't think you can go wrong - great for a 2nd or backup Pc.

A single core CPU is all you need for a gaming machine with some exceptions. This CPU runs OC very impressive but WARNING will not install nor boot Windows 10 unless you disable the dual core operation in the BIOS. This may be a BIOS issue but it is a know issue with this CPU . . . . . BE AWARE . . . .

A chip to be appreciated for what it is. It's quite probably the last dual core that will be bought to build PCs. It may well be the last dual core made for the low end market given the move towards shifting the computational load onto multiple threads. It's not very powerful.
It's also open to be unlocked and can be overclocked. That means that, despite debates around whether newer batches are less powerful than earlier ones, this is a chip that, if you have the inclination (knowledge really isn't necessary once you've figured out how to spell google), can easily be pushed 30% above it's stock speed.
Once overclocked, that means it's a different beast entirely. A 4.2GHz+ chip at £50. Which is tremendous value. It also you means you have a cheap chip to have fun overclocking with-- ideal to learn on if you want to. It's fast enough to run all but the top end of games on good settings if that's what you're looking for
If you're looking for a chip to do anything but top end gaming or processor heavy (read: graphic / video / music processing / editing) applications, then you should and will spend more. That's not what this is for.
Buy it, have some fun overclocking, and enjoy it. There won't be many more.

This is a great processor for it's price but even the price doesn't do it justice. With clocking speeds of up to 4.6GHz. If you are a PC enthusiast and like to overclock then this processor will do you proud.
Graphics showing on my pc is average but having a standalone graphics card is always best for gaming as i do but for everyday use this makes a great addition to the Intel family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris666 Cheap and really fast
I was going to upgrade my i3 with a second hand i7, this chip was only £5 more, so I bought one with a new motherboard and re-used all the old parts. With a Chinese back plate and the Nero AMD fitting screws I re-used my Nero 3 cooler and all is well, running at 4.47 GHz. Big speed improvement. Better than upgrading a 4 year old PC.
