Product Overview Compute Securely with GIGABYTE’s TPM 2.0 Solution
These days security is on the forefront of everyone’s mind. With cyber criminals around the world actively trying to steal your financial and personal information, you need to do everything you can to protect yourself.

• Gives full Trusted Platform Module functionality
• Easy to install on TPM-ready motherboards from Gigabyte and ASUS
• Allows Microsoft BitLocker drive encryption to fully operate
• Simple upgrade to increase security of any compatible TPM-ready PC

While many users protect themselves with anti-virus programs and other software measures, the reality is if you want complete peace of mind you’ll need to take things a step further and use a hardware based security solution. This is especially critical for employees such as accountants or insurance agent where they handle personal information of many individuals.
Thankfully there is a solution to help keep your precious data secure: a Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
Adding another layer of security
The TPM is a discrete cryptographic processor attached to a daughter board which plugs into the motherboard. The TPM securely stores your cryptographic key which can be created with encryption software such as Windows BitLocker. Without this key, the contents of the user’s PC will remain encrypted and safe from unauthorized access.
This means that when using a TPM, the data on our PC will be safe not only from external software threats, but also physical theft. The GIGABYTE TPM GC-TPM 2.0 features the SLB9665, an advanced 2048-bit cryptographic processor by Infineon®. The SLB9665 by Infineon processor meets all the latest industry standards including TPM 2.0 as well as Common Criteria (EAL4+).

This processor creates a military-grade encryption key that allows the use to encrypt your hard drive with Windows BitLocker, and also verify your identity online for tasks like online banking.
The GC-TPM 2.0 is compatible with GIGABYTE motherboards of that include a TPM header on below:
Intel platform: 8-series , 9-series & X99 series
AMD platform: FM2 series
Features Controller Infineon SLB9665TT2.0 FW5.51
Interface TPM header key, LPC bus

Gigabyte GC-TPM 2.0 Trusted Platform Module - Compute securely is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it should after some effort Plugged into the slot on my Z87MX-D3H Gigabyte motherboard without problem. Struggled to turn it on the Bios and Windows failed to recognise it. Eventually, I got in touch with Gigabyte and they emailed a link to a F8a BIOS update that they only 'send out upon request'. Applied this update and the Chip now works a treat. Have encrypted my installed drives and make non-encrypted backups in caddies which can be accessed through a USB to SATA cable. Strangely, i still did not seem to be able to turn the chip on in the Bios but Windows can 'see' the chip so it does not matter. Research suggests that you don't need to enable a secure boot to maintain system security. In summary, it does what it should and doing this was some way cheaper that a new motherboard and processor. Worth the effort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful for those that require this level of security i have never owned a TPM before, so for me i was more curious as to what they actually do and how they work hence my purchase. The module came Very well Packaged from Scan, and is very sturdy in construction, nothing flimsy in the boards design or the connectors connection to the board. The module comes with no software or drivers, as i guess you have to know about this before you order the TPM, in actuality windows already has the drivers and software for the module built in as standard. For me, i see this module Useful in Schools/Libraries etc where a computer is left open to public use, and the administrator can choose what access a user has to the Operating system's components, it is actually very intricate to the choices you can choose. I found that the security features can be defeated easily by booting up and going into the bios to reset the module, although (on Microsoft's website) they do recommend Passwording your bios to prohibit this feature. All in all it actually is excellent for what it does protecting your computers integrity from malicious or accidental abuse, (children can be quiet inquisitive at times regarding a Pc's file system, given access) that is providing you have the time to program the access choices it provides...... Ideal for a family computer....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful Add-On TPM is very useful if you have/want to apply bitlocker encryption to your drives, it allows the system drive/s to fire up without the need for additional input or devices. I have used it with Gigabyte boards Z97 and works as epxected. The only thing I would say (why I have removed 1 star for value) is that the Asus TPM is a few £s cheaper and apparently works fine on both Gigabyte and Asus boards with a TPM header, as does this module. That said, I am very happy with the module and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to add a TPM module to their motherboard.

Coffee Lake compatibility on Z370?

I'm looking to build new system on Z370 board and I wondered if it's compatible with that. Also there is another question I see about version, folks say it's 1.2 but product title says it's 2.0. I'm little bit confused.
