Chassis Airflow
Chassis Airflow

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great case This is a great case and can be many things, to different people. Its great for a simple built with lots of nice airflow through the case and for those wanting to overclock and push their components for that extra performance it offers great watercooling potential with lots of space for all the necessary equipment. Well made and easy to access the internals. I had the small version of this case and didnt think twice about upgrading to the Midi. 29 March 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect.... Living through a time when all the air for cooling was drawn through the front fans....with no doors etc to slow down the flow....this stunning looking case holds all the keys to a quiet and roomy system....with air flow in abubdance....for the fans are adjustable and the way of cleaning them is simplicity....but the most important is the build and just like a foundation of a house this is spot on....bringing quality products together so we the customer can enjoy what is on offer....I cannot find a fault so will sum my experience so far has perfect.... 30 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Complete.... I have just aquired this when purchasing a 3XS system and was very impressed with the high quality on offer....through my eyes she is a real looker and very cool and quiet with the white fans spinning....the side windows adds some charm and the weight was twice as heavy as my old system....so to sum this case up....she holds great looks with plenty of options for the future....so thank you Scott for making her look so nice inside.... 11 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great case for DIY builders Case came completely, void of any damages/defects. Very sturdy side panels even the side with the window. Was slightly heavier than expected but that's a minor niggle. Had plenty of room for cable routing and tons of air flow opportunities, I chose a watercooled solution with a H100i and it fit with no issues although not certain a push-pull would work without lower profile fans. (Haven't tried it though!) Build came together extremely well and easy whether new builder or just doing it at home definitely recommend this case. 19 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good looks, nice wind, plenty of space This is a nice, standard case. Fairly nice design, would definitely look good with lights inside (with that big old window). It was wider than I was expecting, but otherwise a well sized package. Compact enough to not take up half the desk and for the parts to be snug inside, but large enough to get your fambles in while building. Good cable routing options in the back plate & enough anchor points on the reverse. Building another rig for my brother soon, will probably get another one of these cases. 07 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Good Case Very good airflow, easy cable management, plenty of expansion room. It is also fairly quiet, and easy to clean filters. Keeps my system cooler than my old Antec P183, temps down by about 10c. I would have preferred if this case didn't have the window, ( would rather have had space for a side fan like the original Midi 2), but it does the job well. Easy to recommend to anyone. 21 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great case Good cooling options, stock fans are a tad loud on 12v. Good cable routing & can be very tidy as both HDD cages can be removed. 29 March 2014
