Compact Desktop R2R architecture DAC and Headphone Amplifier
FIIO - K13
Rich R2R sound, powerful output.
Bringing FiiO’s discrete R2R conversion technology to a compact desktop setup, the K13 R2R combines a distinctive DAC architecture with a fully balanced headphone amplifier and flexible system connectivity. Designed for serious headphone listening as well as integration into a desktop hi-fi system, it offers a choice of digital sources, detailed sound-shaping options and enough output power to accommodate a wide range of headphones.
At the heart of the K13 R2R is FiiO’s proprietary, fully differential 24-bit resistor-array DAC. Its four-channel design uses 192 precision thin-film resistors, selected for their tight 0.1% accuracy and low temperature drift. Unlike conventional chip-based DAC designs, this discrete R2R approach gives the K13 R2R its own distinctive take on digital-to-analogue conversion, aiming for a rich, natural presentation with a clean background and convincing musical detail.
Two conversion modes let you choose how digital audio is processed. NOS (Non-Oversampling) mode retains the original sampling rate, while OS (Oversampling) mode upsamples audio to 384kHz for a different presentation. With USB decoding supporting PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and native DSD256, the K13 R2R is well equipped for high-resolution music libraries and demanding desktop playback.
The fully balanced amplification circuit delivers up to 2,400mW per channel into 32-ohm headphones through the 4.4mm balanced output. A separate 6.35mm single-ended headphone output is also provided, alongside selectable low, medium and high gain settings to help match the amplifier to different headphones. Whether you're using sensitive in-ear monitors or full-size over-ear headphones, the K13 R2R offers practical flexibility without requiring a separate headphone amplifier.

integrated 10-band parametric EQBeyond headphone listening, the K13 R2R can serve as the central hub of a desktop audio system. USB, optical and coaxial inputs accommodate a computer and other digital sources, while RCA single-ended and XLR balanced line outputs make it straightforward to connect powered speakers or a separate amplifier. Bluetooth 5.4 reception with LDAC and SBC/AAC codec support provides a convenient wireless option, too.
For listeners who like to fine-tune their sound, the built-in 10-band parametric EQ provides detailed control over individual frequency ranges. Accessible through FiiO’s control software, it supports custom profiles and Auto EQ functions, making it easier to tailor the response to your headphones or personal preferences. A compact 1.1-inch LCD displays useful playback and system information, while the physical controls and included infrared remote keep everyday operation straightforward.
Finished in a substantial desktop enclosure, the FiiO K13 R2R brings together discrete R2R conversion, powerful balanced amplification and versatile connectivity in one carefully equipped unit. It’s a compelling choice for listeners who want the character of an R2R DAC without giving up the convenience and control expected from a modern desktop audio system.
