High-Resolution Bluetooth Audio Receiver BR15 R2R DACFiiO's clever little BR15 R2R is a compact desktop DAC and Bluetooth receiver built to slot neatly into an existing hi-fi system. At its heart is FiiO's fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC, using 192 precision thin-film resistors across a quad-channel architecture, with selectable NOS and OS modes for different approaches to digital processing.
Wireless playback comes courtesy of Qualcomm's QCC5181 Bluetooth 6.0 platform, with support for LDAC, aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive alongside the usual Bluetooth codecs. aptX Lossless can deliver CD-quality lossless wireless playback when paired with a compatible source, while the external antenna helps maintain a stable connection.
It's not limited to Bluetooth, either. USB, optical and coaxial inputs let the BR15 R2R handle everything from a computer and streamer to a TV or CD transport, while RCA and balanced XLR analogue outputs make it equally at home feeding an amplifier or active speakers. Optical and coaxial digital outputs are also provided if you want to pass the signal on to another DAC.
A global 10-band parametric EQ with AUTO EQ support gives you further control from the FiiO Control app, while the 1.47-inch colour LCD displays key information including volume, sampling rate, codec and EQ status. With its fully balanced signal path, AC/DC power support and included remote control, the BR15 R2R is a properly flexible digital front end for a modern hi-fi system.
