Ferrofish - 'Pulse16 MX'
The audio unimatrix.
Plus Dante.Ferrofish’s ‘Pulse16 MX’ is here to deliver unparalleled performance, all at a wallet-friendly price point. Alongside the studio-grade 16x16 balanced analogue I/O up to 192kHz, Pulse16 MX features both ADAT and MADI – arguably the most widely used digital audio interfaces available. A maximum of 64x64 channels or (16x16 channels at 192kHz) are able to be sent direct through a simple optical MADI cable pair, so professional multi-channel tracking is never a problem.
All this inside just 1HU, this hugely versatile integrated converter features 16x16 balanced analogue TRS inputs using studio levels up to +20dBu – each able to be adjusted in 1dB increments. The ‘Low Latency Cirrus Logic’ converters, alongside a temperature-compensated clock and jitter reduction PLL, results in incredibly transparent and clear sound.
The 4x4 ADAT ports pack more than enough bandwidth to convert each of the 16x16 analogue signals at 96kHz, or even 32x32 channels at 48kHz. MADI adds a further 64x64 channels, and is implemented via a modular SFP connection to offer various MADI standards. Tweaking and configuring Pulse16 MX is easy too, thanks to the dual TFT displays, no need to constantly consult the manual, all the info you’ll need is displayed clearly and in an easy to understand manner.

'Pulse16 MX' - I/O
16 x 16 BALANCED TRSBalanced analogue I/O, max 192kHz Gain/Levels: -8dBu…+20dBu (1dB steps).
MADI SFP PORTSFP MADI module with optical LC connector (Multimode). Singlemode Module optional.
4 x 4 ADAT TOSLINKEach ADAT port transfers eight channels at a sample rate of 48kHz (= 32 In + 32 Out).
Word Clock I/OBNC with 75 Ohm internal termination. On/Off via display.
MIDI I/OFor Remote Control and MIDI-over-MADI (with installed MADI module).
PHONES STEREO TRS (FRONT)Monitoring of every stereo/mono I/O via an additional stereo DAC.
Seamless Analogue / ADAT / MADI Integration
MADI InterfaceThe Pulse16 MX has a modular MADI interface: The MADI SFP slot is equipped with an optical LC multimode module, which can be replaced, for example, by a Singlemode module. In addition to the 64 x 64 audio channels, a MIDI signal is also embedded, which can be used for device control and for routing to the MIDI interfaces.
Dual TFT DisplayKeep track of all 32 analog channels at any time: Everything is shows clearly on two TFT screens. Status information and all functions are presented clearly and intuitively, so no need to consult the manual anymore. Gone are the days of blinking LED‘s and incomprehensible operation!
Internal Routing MatrixAll 176 x 176 analog and digital channels of the Pulse16 MX are brought together in groups of 8 using the internal routing matrix. For easy monitoring, any channel, mono or stereo, can be selected for headphone output.
