Longer Lasting EVGA 1060

EVGA ACX 2.0 fans use double ball bearings, which offer 4X longer lifespan than the sleeve bearing fans used by competitors. The oil that is used in sleeve bearing fans makes them vulnerable and prone to failure after time, when the oil dries up. Upgrade to EVGA ACX 2.0 and your card will go the distance.

Date Issued: 24th Aug 2016

The market for graphics cards priced at £250 has been hotting up since both AMD and Nvidia released GPUs based on their latest architectures. AMD has been more eager to pinpoint the sub-£200 market with two GPUs - the Radeon RX 480 and Radeon RX 470. Specifically, if you can find one, the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro 4GB is arguably the best card south of this all-important figure.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING 6GB GDDR5 VR Ready Graphics Card, 1280 Core, 1506MHz GPU, 1708MHz Boost is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice compact graphics card Very quiet card, performs really well in my ageing rig, its half the size of my old card and only needs one power connection. Ordered and it came the next day by mail in perfect condition, its probably the best card I have bought for value vs performance and i just need a new motherboard and cpu's to keep up with it now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handled every game I've thrown at it perfectly What more can you say. Ultra high res at 60fps - only gaming obsessives would need a 1080!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for standard resolutions! The GTX1060 is a small, energy efficient graphics card that will easily handle anything you throw at it in 1080p. Scan's insurance was great peace of mind for a first time upgrader

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product So far so good, performs better than i expected. build quality is good although the fan is a little noisy when it kicks in but during less intensive use the fan powers down so is as quiet as your PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent graphics card Bought to replace Geforce Ti550 which could not handle current drivers. Both Scan and the Geforce 1060 were recommended by my local computer shop, and I am very pleased with the 1060, and Scan's service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice quiet card. Runs everything smooth 1080p ultra. Updated my 7 year old system. Now got an i5 3.2ghz this card, a ssd and 16gb ram. Was running an hd5770. I get 60 frames at least on all games on ultra at 1080p. The card generates far less noise, the fan I pretty quiet. Tbh u can't tell when it's spun up high under load. The drivers have been stable so I've had no crashes. Don't run the latest ge force experience software as this has a bug that kills your fps. Card is smaller than most, size was no issue for me but may be in a small uATX. It fells well made. I'm happy with the purchase. Would of got the 1070 but didn't have an extra 200 notes. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid upgrade from an older card So, prior to purchasing this card, i'd been running a 560ti (the MSI twin froze version). So as you can imagine, this was a massive leap up in terms of power and output. Surprisingly, for such a leap, the power usage is right down and the noise is noticeably lower. I'm running my rig in a mini BitFenix Phenom case and, considering the lack of space and reduced airflow, the card is barely audible under most conditions. Dropping to a single pci e power connect also means my psu is doing less work (and its fan is also dropping down in speed and noise too). Being a early adopter, but long life user of components, i had the new Doom and Witcher 3 awaiting something that could do them justice before firing them up and the 1060 doesn't disappoint. I'm running the Witcher on high settings and then upping the hair works on Geralt and i have no performance drop whatsoever. I switched off the 60 fps cap and let it run wild and galloping through the countryside is smooth, flawless and stunning. Doom hasn't had as much as a run out, but again, running on high the game looks marvelous and plays beautifully, with Id's demons in all their horrific glory. I had considered switching to the AMD 480, but its higher power draw was a big no no, even though bench mark for bench mark, they are fairly similar on the blocks. If the 1060 lasts for 4 years, like my 560ti has done, then the lower draw will more than compensate for the slightly higher cost of the card. I did think long and hard and waited until all the reviews were in before siding to the green camp again, but the red camp only just lost out this time round. My only complaint, which is purely superficial, is that i'd have preferred the pic e connector facing the rear of the card, rather than on its top edge. So in summary, solid, powerful and quiet at a very reasonable price. Well worth an investment if your debating upgrading from that slightly older card and want a decent bit of kit to play the latest games in stunning 'technicolor'
