Product Overview This Combo Print Server allows you to share your GDI printer or LPR printer to all PCs through the network. GDI printers, run in Windows Graphical Device Interface (GDI) protocol. Sometimes GDI printers are called host-based printers because they rely on the host computer (Win2000/XP/Vista) to rasterizing pages to an image format, not PostScript or PCL language. Therefore, almost none of Print Servers in the market can support GDI printers. PS-1216U implements a special technology which allows it to communicate with the GDI printer as if it is connected directly to your computer. With the feature, the GDI printer becomes a shared device easily.
