It connects using LC duplex connectors and supports distances up to 30m over OM4 multimode fibre at 850nm. Because it runs on existing 1G and 10G cabling infrastructure, it allows a smooth transition to 25G—delivering at least a 2.5× speed increase without requiring a full rebuild.
How the Signal is Delivered
The module uses a VCSEL transmitter to send data and a PIN receiver to capture it, forming the backbone of its optical performance. It operates at up to 25.78Gbps, with TX power between -8.4 and 2.4dBm and receiver sensitivity down to -10.2dBm. With a 1.9dB power budget, 2dB extinction ratio, and BER of 1E-12, it maintains clean signal delivery even at high data rates, supported by TX/RX CDR and RS-FEC for signal correction.
Macom Chip
A built-in Macom chip supports stable 25G transmission while keeping efficiency in check, helping maintain consistent performance across demanding data centre workloads.
Integrated DOM
To ensure compatibility, the transceiver complies with SFF-8472, SFF-8024, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, IEEE 802.3by, and IEEE 802.3cc standards. It also includes Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM), which provides real-time insight into operating conditions—allowing users to track performance metrics and identify potential issues early.
