Product Overview Succeeding the popular Hyper 212 Plus, the NEW Hyper 212 EVO carries on the legacy of providing a great balance of performance and noise level during high and low speed operations.

The Hyper 212 EVO cooling systems are designed and optimized to provide the best user experience and cooling potential for a new generation of processors. The Hyper 212 EVO now features four Cooler Master patented Continuous Direct Contact™ (CDC) heat pipes that are tightly packed into a flat array on the CPU Cooler base. This acts as a virtual vapor chamber that dissipates a large amount of heat. The aluminum fin structure has been optimized to provide the perfect performance balance between high and low speed fan operations.

Features • Well-balanced cooling performance provides fin optimizations with perfect balance between high and low speed operations.

• 4 Direct Contact heat pipes with the patented CDC™ (Continuous Direct Contact) technology - creating a perfect, sleek surface for heat conduction.

• Wide-range PWM fan with unique wave-shaped blade design for excellent airflow.

•Versatile all-in-one mounting solution supporting the latest Intel® LGA 1366 / 1156/55/51/50 2011/2011-3 and AMD FM1 / AM3+.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Cooler! Got this cooler in my new cooling down the Intel Core i5-6400 and keeps it under 40 degrees even under load! 05 May 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Air Cooler On The Market Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Is The Best Air Cooler On The Market. I Use This Cooler On My Intel I7 4790K Processor. On The Intel Stock Cooler The Idle Temp Goes To 34 Degrees And On Full Load Temp Goes To 72 Degrees. I Overclock My I7 4790K To 4.5GHZ.The Idle Temp On Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Goes To 25 Degrees And On Full Load The Temp Goes To 60 Degrees. When Not Overclock The Full Load Temp Goes To 45 To 50 Degrees. I Recommend This Cooler To Everyone. 30 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by does exactly as intended have a dual i7 board which was previously water-cooled but one leaked. Replaced with 2 of these and not only are the cpu's cooler, the noise levels are far better. I would recommend this fan/heatsink to anyone. 26 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing This cooler is amazing for the price you pay. It is exceptionally large so make sure your case allows room to install. Heard alot of people saying how difficult it was but one of the easiest coolers I have had the pleasure of installing. 25 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Instructions could be a little clearer but after going through it few times everything was clear on how to use this heatsink. Used thermal paste provided and I'm shocked! My [email protected] in stress don't go higher than 40*C. When advance power management is enabled in BIOS and throttling is enabled in Win7 idle temperatures can go as low as 15*C! That's lower than ambient! Everything on "quiet" settings in BIOS' fan controls. Amazing. Would recommend to anyone. I think it's the best up-to-date air-cooler made. 20 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent!! Bought a good few years ago with my i5 4670k cpu, been going strong ever since. Currently running at 4.5ghz perfectly well. Awesome cooler for the price. 14 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better quality than I was expecting This is a well made product. I was surprised considering this is an entry level cooling block. It certainly is quiet. I found the instructions a bit confusing - it was easier to look at what it came with and my motherboard and work it out myself. But installing it was simple. 13 January 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This product is exactly as described, lowered my temp by a huge amount. I bought this cooler to replace the stock i7 cooler as the stock fan is quite bad, anyway it was easy enough to fit and assemble with my motherboard using a mixture of the instructions provided and YouTube. I fitted this cooler within half an hour no issues what so ever and it's lowered my Cpu temperature by about 20 Celsius on most things take for example on one game it would stay around 68C on Ultra settings and now stays about 47C, all in all for the money and such it's a great cooler and well recommended, however do remember to check the space in your case for such a piece, mine wasn't so bad as i have a full tower however at first i thought it would be close to my side fans but eventually posed no issue so please do check your specifications and such before buying :) 17 November 2015

Answer:
Hi,
It comes with a tube of paste, much more than you will need.

There is a knack to mounting semiconductors to heatsinks, whether it's a CPU or a power transistor in an amplifier.

There is a lot of poor information about this online, unfortunately.

No compound is as good as direct metal-on-metal contact, the purpose of such materials is only to fill in surface imperfections and replace what would be an air space with something which conducts heat a bit better.

With that in mind, it's clear that the smallest amount of compound is best, and a pre-applied phase-change material is always inferior to two clean metal surfaces plus a minimum of compound.

What you actually need is as much of the cooler's aluminium and copper interface to be in direct contact with the chip aluminium heat spreader.

If I had a gripe about the 212 EVO, it would be that the compound is much too viscous.

Answer:
Hi,
I'm not sure what brand it is, but it looks like a metal bearing compound. It's very, too, viscous.

There is no substitute for direct metal to metal contact. The heat conductivity of aluminium (CPU heat spreader) and copper (the flattened and machined heatpipes of the 212) is approaching the maximum.

The compound should be there just to fill in imperfections in the surfaces.

So, if your compound becomes a considerable function of the thermal resistance, silicon to air, you have too much of it.

Which means either the surfaces aren't flat enough, or too much compound was applied, and it's stopping metal-on-metal contact.

Saying that, I guess for a few quid you can buy a tube of something fancy, or use a traditional alumina compound, one which has a lower viscosity, so you could get the two surfaces closer together.

Technique is as important as the compound though,

Answer:
On checking the unit you have is quite a slim line unit and therefore this cooler is unlikely to fit due to the height of it.

The cooler normally used in the system you have is Everflow Fan Model F129025SU therefore as a replacement you might be best looking for low profile coolers to ensure compatibility.

Answer:
In short, I don't think it will I'm afraid. Whilst your motherboard/cpu combo may support the Hyper212EVO cooler, the deciding factor will be the size/width of your case. The X3200 case looks to be of a slimmer profile than other mid-tower cases, and the Hyper212EVO is BIG and protrudes out from the motherboard a lot. To find out for sure, measure your case - The Hyper212EVO is around 6.5 inches tall so needs a case approx 8 inches wide. Also take the position of RAM slots/modules in to consideration as well due to the real-estate occupied by the Hyper212EVO overall. If you need more info on sizes etc, Google is your friend. :) (other search engines are available!)
