Boss - Katana Artist MkII

Professional 100-watt combo amp
Introducing the new ‘Katana-Artist MKII’ from Boss.
Taking it’s name from the infamous sword carried by the honourable Samurai warriors of ancient Japan, the Katana is thought of as the finest sword in history, known for its precision, accuracy and ability to effortlessly cut through. Much like the latest evolution of Boss’s widely-popular Katana range...
The Katana-Artist MKII enrichens the flagship model in the Katana range with truly revolutionary and ground-breaking features and next-level versatility. Newly voiced variations on all 5 amp characters double the choice of tones, whilst built-in effects categories have been expanded from 3 to 5.
Exclusive front-panel controls deliver even greater customisation of tone, including the addition of a 3-way contour switch, Global EQ with 3 customisable curves, and a solo boost to help cut through the mix when you need it most. And with the fantastic new dual amp functionality, Boss have made it simple to connect two Katana’s together for some serious fun (and volume).
Refined Sound For Professional Performers

providing ultimate response with speaker and cab Similarly to the Katana Artist MKII’s previous incarnation, the MKII has been designed with extra nuances for the discerning pro players. Boss’s custom ‘Waza’ speaker delivers the quintessential rock sound under your fingers, whilst the cabinet’s wide baffle and semi-closed back provides tight, crunching tones with warm low end, a broad mid-range and crystal-clear highs.
Furthermore, each Katana-Artist MKII amp character has been specifically voiced to provide the ultimate response with the speaker and cab.
Waza Speaker: Legendary Tone, Modern Power

Powerful, Classic ToneAn integral element to the Katan-Artist MKII’s huge sound is the inclusion of the 12” Waza speaker, designed and engineered in-house by Boss to give a broad dynamic response, smooth midrange, and warm harmonic overtones of the benchmark 25-watt British stack speaker from the 1960’s heyday.
Via in-depth analysis of original speakers and careful selection of the magnet, cone material and various other elements, the Waza speaker encapsulates the full characteristics of this iconic speaker whilst boosting power capacity to 100 watts.
One-Touch Recall Of Custom Setups

CALL UP YOUR FAVOURITE TONES IN NO TIME Thanks to the Katana MKII’s onboard Tone setting banks, you’re able to save your favourite amp character and effects settings for immediate recall.
After you’ve dialled in your tone of choice with the panel controls, just save it to your preferred memory with a quick button hold. Eight tone setting (2 banks of 4) are available, with quick selection straight from the panel.
Should you need hands-free operation, simply connect the GA-FC foot controller.
Expanded Amp Characters & Effects

HUGE VARIETY OF EFFECTSThe Katana-Artist MKII features the very same key updates as seen with the release of the Katana MKII amps. Alternatives are now available for the Katana’s 5 amp characters, each offering 10 differing tone options to choose from. And with 5 simultaneous effects categories, you have the sound-shaping power of an extensive pedalboard, inside the Katana MKII.
If that’s not enough to whet your appetite, try connecting to Boss ‘Tone Studio’ to dive head first into a plethora of effects and tone heaven. Customise the sections with 60+different effect types, tweak the order with 4 different chains and so much more.
Deep Tone-Shaping ToolsUpon first glance of the Katana MKII’s front panel, you may notice some differences from Katana’s previous incarnation. The Katana MKII features some exclusive additions, such as a 3-way contour switch which allows you mould the amp’s core tone, whilst 3 selectable Global EQ settings (adjustable in Tone Studio) are perfect for making small adjustments over the overall sound for different guitars and styles. A post-amp solo boost controlled via footswitch is also available featuring a dedicated panel knob for quick-time adjustment.
Integrated Dual Amp Support

TWICE THE POWER Superb expansion features enable you to use dual Katana-Artist MKII’s simultaneously. Using Dual Link, it’s possible to set each amps EQ and effects with independent settings and control them both from just one GA-FC foot controller, enabling you to blend both clean and distorted sounds, create wet/dry setups and more.
Stereo Expand allows you to use one amp as the master amp and the other as the slave, with onboard-stereo compatible effects such as chorus, delay and reverb spread across each amp for a seriously impressive, wide, room filling sound.
Full-Throttle Sound Every Time You Plug InUtilising Boss’s lauded ‘Tube Logic’ approach, the Katana-Artist MKII brings the authentic output distortion elements of genuine valve amplifiers, with the tone and feel sounding richer and more responsive as the master volume is increased.
Unlike authentic valve amps however, Boss’s variable Power Control allows you to dial in the sweet spot without disturbing the neighbours too much. Just dial back the overall volume as required to appreciate that beautiful cranked-amp sound that is so revered by guitar players.
BOSS Tone Studio Enhancements

REVAMPED TONE STUDIOBOSS Tone Studio has also evolved alongside the Katana MkII amplifiers. The interface has been updated with a refreshed look, and many parameters have been consolidated into the main screen for faster workflow.
There's also a dedicated Pedal FX category, making it easier to assign wah and pedal bend effects to a connected expression pedal. And if you're a first-gen Katana owner, it's possible to import your custom patches and use them all with the Katana-Artist MkII.
Compact Gig Commander

hands free operationThe optional GA-FC foot controller is the perfect partner for the Katana-Artist MkII—it connects with a single cable, requires no external power, and has a slim, rugged profile that takes up minimal space.
With six footswitches, you can recall Tone Settings and turn the five effects sections on/off. The GA-FC also supports external footswitches and expression pedals, with default assignments that include tap tempo, bank selection, foot volume, and Pedal FX.
Assignments can be customized via BOSS Tone Studio, including pedal control of up to three parameters at once.
