UltraStudio 4K Mini: Leaner, Meaner

New Groove Blackmagic's UltraStudio range is the ideal companion for anyone needing both monitor and capture capabilities in their workflow, whether on a DIT cart on set or in the office, surrounded by your dearest kit. Replacing the regular UltraStudio 4K, the 4K Mini takes a similar form to Teranex and other Blackmagic Design boxes that can be rackmounted or simply placed on the desk.

Input/Output The UltraStudio 4K Mini features Thunderbolt 3, SDI and HDMI in, along with outputs respectively. This not only allows it to support studio or cinema level cameras, but consumer or prosumer level too, plus, with the 12G connection and HDMI 2.0 I/O, you'll find support for up to 2160p60 in 8 and 10-bit high dynamic range capture or 30fps in 12-bit.
10-bit Workflow

HDR With HDR being a major component in all grading processes now, it's incredibly handy to have access to 10-bit or above footage, which the UltraStudio 4K Mini will let you view via any HDR enabled monitor so you can get an accurate grade via HDMI, even on a consumer grade TV! When working with 10-bit video, the UltraStudio won't compress the footage, giving you the pure confidence to work with keying, compositions and colour correction.
DaVinci Resolve Studio Included

All-in-One Video Editor
Blackmagic's premiere non-linear-video editor (NLE), combining the Fusion VFX suite, Hollywood level colour correction, Fairlight audio and a host of new features, including the brand new slim-line Cut Page.
With the UltraStudio 4K Mini, you'll be able to use the full capabailities of Resolve Studio, including ingesting media straight into your software via the SD Card on the front, taking advantage of Resolve Live and viewing your content in full uncompressed 10-bit, for accurate grading or keying.
DaVinci Resolve Key
DaVinci Resolve Dongle

Resolve Live Resolve Live can be used with the UltraStudio 4K Mini, which is live grading directly from the camera on location. Feeding out via SDI or HDMI, you can acquire the live feed into Resolve and place correction nodes during filming. These can then be saved for later, allowing you to link it up to your imported media for a quicker turn around.
Blackmagic Media Express

Get the job done If you don't really require the full suite of tools provided by Blackmagic and just need a simple management of media, whether it's capturing or saving to an external location, Blackmagic Media Express provides a limited amount of tools to ensure the job's done right without any of the frills of utilising the whole of Resolve or other software you might be invested in. Choose how you want it to be saved, start capture and then save it to where it needs to go.
Compatible with…
Video Editors The UltraStudio 4K Mini is not only ideal for using with DaVinci Resolve, but Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro X and Avid.

Premiere ProAdobe's non-linear-editor, with integrated support for all supported Adobe apps

Final Cut Pro XApple's exclusive video editor, this is designed and built around macOS and is part of their Pro library of apps

Avid Media ComposerLong standing and traditional video editor, continues to be a favourite for those within the Avid Ecosystem
Live Streaming Like other capture devices, the UltraStudio can be used via Open Broadcaster Studio, Xsplit Broadcaster, Wirecast and vMix Live, to produce incredible high quality live streams that can then integrate with other Blackmagic solutions for either a dedicated capture box or using the SDI ports for key and fill for graphics in an RGB space. Photoshop can also be included via a plug in for the software to be utilised in this workflow.
Perfect for all Video Tasks

Archival Because the UltraStudio can take in a variety of inputs via HDMI or SDI and external converters, the box is the perfect addition to archival projects. Similar the HyperDeck Extreme's angle of being a dedicated box that takes in footage via capture, the same can be done with the 4K Mini.

Presentations If you're hosting a presentation, the 4K output from the UltraStudio can utilised to produce magnificent images on the big screen.
Audio For those in audio, the included 8 (HDMI) or 16 (SDI) channels of audio make for an incredibly flexible box when it comes with post-production, giving you the tools to work with and zero compromises, just like you'd expect out of your video. Combine it with your AVID Pro Tools setup or other audio editor to avoid drops in audio at crucial moments in the creative process.
