Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone
Aston - 'Spirit'
Premium Components, Premimum SoundThe Aston Spirit is a high-performance, large diaphragm condenser microphone with a switchable polar pattern, and features a 1” gold evaporated capsule. A switch on the mic body allows you to choose from Omni, Cardioid or Figure-of-Eight polar patterns. The Spirit versatile enough to use with most instruments and works exceptionally well on acoustic guitar and vocals. Its Aston 33 panel selected capsule is paired with with high-end transformer balanced circuitry using only high-end components.
The Spirit is designed to deliver a stunning open sound with rich harmonics. This highly accurate microphone captures a natural and transparent recording, with all the detail in the high range but without any unwanted harshness that some condenser microphones are prone to. The Spirit is a result of one of the biggest engineering projects in the microphone industry for decades. Nominated for the prestigious NAMM TEC Award in 2017 and universally respected as one of the best mics on the market today at any price, it achieves a level of technical excellence and performance you’ve never previously seen at this price range.

Innovative & Unique
Award-Winning TechnologyAston have become well known globally for their innovative and unique designs. Their range of microphones are not just incredible tools for recording and multiple award-winning products, but they are works of engineering art that deliver vocal and instrument recording to compete with the very best in the world.
If you already own an Aston mic, you’ll know exactly what we mean, having already experienced the extreme attention to detail throughout, along with the incredible technology and performance.
The Iconic Aston Sound
The Aston SoundSince the inception of Aston, they worked with some of the top audio professionals in the industry to create a development panel for listening, whilst Aston focussed on perfecting every minute detail in their mics, to finally produce what is believed to be the very best products in their class.
Wave-Form Spring HeadThe Aston Spirit features thier signature wave-form spring head. This unique design not only looks great, but provides an unprecedented amount of protection for the core of your microphone, the capsule. The shock resistant wave-form design allows the head of the mic to distort if given a heavy knock, and goes back to its normal position, without any damage. It also features a degree of off-axis rejection, eliminating unwanted background from your recordings.
Built In Pop FilterAston’s vocal condenser microphones feature an exclusive mesh-knit pop filter built into the wave-form head. The random weave enables sound to pass while drastically removing unwanted plosives at source. It also shields against multiple wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation making Aston microphones great in critically sensitive electronic applications. This completely encapsulating, single piece, mesh cage is formed in stainless steel, meaning it won’t rust with use, and can even be removed and washed.
Direct To Stand MountingAnother unique design element of the Aston Spirit is the use of custom moulded end caps with a built-in XLR and universal stand thread adaptor. As the internal shock absorption system is so good, you can mount the microphone directly to a stand using the built in thread and interchangeable thread adapter with outstandingly low handling noise. The design also allows Aston microphones to be easily to repaired and maintained.
ChassisPart of the beauty of Aston microphones is the custom finish of each chassis. Rather than a mass-produced paint job, each chassis is individually tumbled for up to 4 hours to give it a very hard-wearing and an aesthetically pleasing finish. To perfect the look, each microphone is separately engraved with its legends, the Aston slogan ‘The Art of Audio’
PCBA fantastically balanced mix of discrete and integrated electronic circuitry with harmonised circuit stage arrangement for simple integration from phantom power input circuitry to the capsule voltage bias and novel non-linear voltage/current source rectification to provide controlled amplification and crystal clear audio output.
Eco-Friendly PackagingAston put their hearts and souls into creating the most beautiful performance pieces possible with each Aston product. When it comes to packaging they believe simplicity is ket. Protective, re-useable, environmentally sensible packaging that doesn’t cost the earth.
