8-voice Polyphonic Wave Morphing Synthesizer
Introducing the vastly powerful ‘Hydrasynth’ Desktop 8-voice polyphonic wave morphing synthesizer from ASM.
The Hydrasynth Desktop boasts 8-voice polyphony, ‘Mutator’ waveshaping, and a 32-slot modulation matrix to deliver a genuinely revolutionary, virtual analogue synthesizer, for the revolutionary music producer.
The Hydrasynth Desktop easily rivals the sonic capabilities of popular and renowned software synthesizer plug-ins, each of the Hydrasynths voices sports 3 WaveScan oscillators to offer an impressive 219 unique waveforms, with a total of 4 Mutators for unparalleled waveshaping potential.
The Hydrasynth Desktop has near limitless capability for the creation of nuanced and nonlinear sounds – the 5 ADSR envelope generators offer delay and hold and can have either linear or exponential curves in between stages, whilst the 5 onboard LFO’s deliver upto 11 waveshapes plus delay, fade in and smoothing.
Consider the 24 performance pads with polyphonic aftertouch, alongside CV/Gate connectivity, and the ASM Hydrasynth Desktop really does start to look like the innovative and versatile module your synthesizer setup has been patiently waiting for.
Vast Modulation Capabilities
create custom, unique waveshapesVia its vast 32-slot modulation matrix, the Hydrasynth Desktop gives you all the tools you need to design complex, intricate and eloquent sounds. Creative synthesists are sure to be drawn in by the Hydrasynth’s envelope generators (5 per voice), which offer delay and hold in addition to ADSR stages. Each stage of the envelope is able to sweep through exponential and logarithmic curves, which paves the way for vast creative opportunity with evolving modulations.
As with the majority of the Hydrasynth Desktop’s functionalities, envelopes are able to be locked to BPM to allow for tempo-synced modulations. Once combined with the looping function, you can use the envelopes as LFO’s with interesting waveshapes. Hydrasynth Desktop offers 5 LFO’s per voice with 11 waveshapes, this is inclusive of the 8-step LFO which enables you to design your own custom, unique waveshapes.
Real-time Control via 8 Macro Controls
170 modulation destinationsPerhaps one the most popular facets of software synthesizers is the option to control numerous parameters simultaneously via macro controls. The Hydrasynth Desktop hands you this creative power in hardware form.
It’s possible to customise the 8 macro controls to control up to 8 destinations at the same time. With a total of 170 modulation destinations to explore, it’s easy to utilise the macro controls to warp between completely distinct sound variations on the fly.
Deep Synthesis with an Intuitive Interface
incredibly intuitive interfaceThe Hydrasynth Desktop’s engine is spectacular in its power, but this doesn’t mean that it’s complex in its operation, quite the opposite infact, it’s simple to locate and tweak the parameters. On the front panel, you’ll see a graphic representation of the audio chain, with buttons to select each individual section (individual oscillators, mixer, effects and so forth).
Choosing a section brings its associated parameters to the display, with 8 encoders ready to tweak. Each section on the Hydrasynth Desktop is able to be accessed with the press of a button, meaning there’s no need to delve deep into complex menus.
Just some of the Powerful Features onboard the Hydrasynth
THE SYNTHESIST'S DREAMThe Hydrasynth Desktop is the exact same sound engine as the Hydrasynth Keyboard. The engine is a sound designers dream come true, as well as a performing musicians ideal. The sound engine has been designed for maximum flexibility. Check out just some of the killer features onboard this hugely powerful synthesist’s dream.
Mixer/ filter routing3 Oscillators are fed into a mixer along with the Noise generator and Ring Modulator. The Mixer allows you to mix levels as well as pan the input source. The filters can be set to be parallel or series for ultimate flexibility.
Oscillators3 oscillators allow you to choose from a selection of 219 single cycle waveforms. This mode allows you to pick and choose 8 waves, from the bank of 219, arrange them in the order you want, and then morph from one to another.
FiltersThe Hydrasynth has two filters that can be configured in series or parallel. Filter 1 has 11 different filter models, giving you multiple options for tailoring your sound. Filter 2 is a 12db per octave has a continuous sweep from Low pass to bandpass to high pass.
EnvelopesAn advanced sound engine needs plenty of modulation sources. ASM's 6 stage envelopes feature Delay, Attack, Hold, Decay, Sustain and Release stages. You can also loop the envelopes to create LFO’s whose shape can be voltage controlled in the modulation matrix.
Modulation MatrixWith 32 user definable modulation routings, you will have plenty of ways to use the 29 modulation sources and 155 modulation destinations.
Main ControlsThe Main system controls are where you navigate your patches, configure system settings and see parameters like the envelopes, waveforms, filters in the OLED screen.
CV/GATE - MIDI - USBThere is the standard MIDI and USB/MIDI interfaces on the synth but we go deeper and allow the use of CV/GATE interfaces for connecting to the modular world.
ArpeggiatorThe arpeggiator allows for standard note arpeggiations but also has a phrase arpeggio built-in. Parameters like RATCHET and CHANCE will generate insane rhythmic patterns.
