Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Solid Drive First time ever i had a problem with the many seagate drives i have used and i currently own 6 of them now. Scan promptly replaced the faulty drive. The drive itself has reasonable write speeds for a 5400rpm so makes a great storage drive. My advise though would be save yourself a few pound and purchase external as i also have a 6tb seagate hub which gives excellent performance. A 8tb seagate hub will save you about £38 if you shop about and you have the option of using as an external or internal and using the case for another HD. Not sure why i never though of this at the time but if you want a BarraCuda then purchase as you might not get a BarraCuda in the hub but you will get a solid drive. Scan current price for 8tb hub would only save you about £8 but there prices do go up and down quite a bit

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid media drive I wouldn't purchase this drive for a server with multiple people accessing it frequently, but I've used it in an Unraid server containing media for my Kodi box, and I've found it to be perfect for that. I'm getting consistent read speeds of about 115 MB/s. Plenty for a couple of 4k streams!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Barracudas have plenty bite for video editing I've been using Seagate Barracuda drives from 2TB to 8TB for video work and they have performed brilliantly. Three 8TB disks (7200rpm) are used on a Mac Pro 6.1 (Dustbin) for HD Editing while my older G5 Mac Pro 3.1 has two 8TB internally plus the 5400 rpm version bought from Scan - my Blackmagic Speed check clocks this disk's transfer speed as 148mb/s read and 153mb/s write while the faster 7200rpm drives clock 160mb/s for the tests. So I'm well pleased with the Scan purchase. It holds its own with the more expensive 7200rpm versions and I trust it will prove as reliable over time.
